...and figured I should rear my ugly little head with a hey! I'm sure (kinda, anyway) someone is still around who remembers me; I was a snotty, opinionated brat with a fuzzy knowledge of audio. Well, now I'm a snotty, opinionated brat with a rather clear knowledge of audio. I cringe at my past...

If the drivers have a nice shine that you wouldn't want to scratch, I wouldn't use a cloth (unless it's really, really, really freaking soft). I've had much success with Swiffer Dusters and things of that sort. Feather dusters, those hairy-duster things (what they're called escapes me at the...
[stupid thought]I remember someone using the term "bright" to describe the sound of piezo horn tweeters and I totally disagree. Piezo horn tweeters are annoying at best...Not bright, just annoying. :D [/stupid thought] The term "bright" to me best describes the sound of a speaker system...
I did a presentation on the history and improvement loudspeakers about two years ago for an engineering class and the Voice of the Theater series from Altec was a big part of it. Too bad I've had to format my hard drive so many times, otherwise I'd still have it. :frowning:
Well, there is no noise-cancelling technology used in these. These are just like the QuietComfort Headphones that Bose makes, just without the noise-cancelling stuff... I'm actually working on replacing them with Koss or AKG studio headphones because they're built so poorly. Don't ya just...
Bose TriPort Headphones... I just don't understand it. It's astonishing... Bose makes something that sounds GOOD! Boggles the mind. Really, I'm confused. (See? I even used the emoticon! :D ) Well, there is one thing I don't like about them, I paid $150 for this pair of...
Well, it sounds to me that you're not talking about subwoofers, so I assume that these would be woofers. Another thing that springs to mind is that this sounds like a very old Sony shelf or floor system. I want to know if the receiver/amp your talking about is four-channel or just...
Ok, don't laugh... It's a rather old Sony TV, from about 1986... And I solved the problem... I just put some little pieces of cloth in the frame that holds the screen in... No big deal. :) I really need a new TV down here...
Ok, I have a 15' x 22' (8' height) AV/Band room that has a 36'' Sony projection TV in it... And I can't stop the plastic screen from rattling! ...I'm willing to open it up (again) and use some sealer but I'm afraid of the sealer I have eating through the plastic screen. Any suggestions...
Well, now that I've heard these Zaldek's, I think I'm gonna get four Wharfedale VS12 PA speakers and a nice PA amp or two for my heart-stopping, bloody-ear, crap-in-your-pants, piss- off-the-neighbors band sound system later this summer. :D
Well.. I take back that statement... They wouldn't be THAT bad for HT, but they do produce too much bass for use as mains or surrounds in a HT system... I don't know really know that much about HT, other than that good HT systems sound awesome. Especially when the mains and the surrounds...
I would like to mention one of the drawbacks of these speakers... When I got them they didn't sound good because one of the tweeters wasn't connected in the inside... I had to take the front plate off and take the tweeter out and re-connect it... But, it's no big deal for me. I also...
Note: Every speaker I've ever owned has been a stage speaker or stage monitor... And I think these speakers are better... Much less harsh and the bass is really smooth... Did I mention that the woofers are well behaved? ...Well, they are.
