Current Speakers: 2.1 LogitechWhy I Want To Win: Because clearly, my speakers are woefully lacking. I have always wanted to upgrade, but never was able to find the money to do so. This would be incredible! Thank you!Bonus entries:
Hey guys! Thanks for the help! It's good to know that at least I can listen to WALL-E in stereo for the time being...I guess it's time to upgrade the ol' receiver into the 21st century.
Okay, this may sound incredibly dumb, but I plan on getting a Sony BDP-S350 very soon, and WALL-E will be my first Blu-Ray movie. Unfortunately, we have a pretty dated Sony receiver that only decodes Dolby Digital -- no DTS. Since WALL-E only has DTS-HD, is there any we can still watch it in...
Hey Sean, Actually, I did some searching over at DVDTalk.com and it seems there's at least a couple of people who also had issues with the score overpowering the dialogue. Strangely, though, it's not so much the effects that were too loud -- just the score. Which is odd, because many...
Hey folks! Just wanted to ask a question of everyone who's seen Dark Knight presented in IMAX. When I watched it opening day in IMAX, I immediately noticed that the dialogue often seemed to be overwhelmed by the score. Especially during the last few minutes, it became rather difficult to...
Careful here. The Sony WEGA XBRs only accept up up 1080i and then upconvert to 1080p. They do not accept direct 1080p signals, although nevertheless, I do love my 60" XBR. :)
Regarding the level of LFE in the ROTS DVD, I think there's one question many people are overlooking: Is this mix representative of what we heard in theaters? Personally, I saw ROTS in a DLP theater in Austin, and the sound was simply wonderful. It was rich and full, with heavy bass when you...
Hey folks! We're thinking about buying one of the new 61" 1080p Samsung DLPs (HL-R6168W), and I had a question. I'm fairly new to high-definition displays, so this may sound silly, but here goes: Are DLPs susceptible to magnetic field interference from unshielded speakers like normal CRTs...
If DreamWorks decides to do this, hopefully they'll offer "The Island" in separate original and edited versions, or at the very least, on the same release using seamless branching. Just a bad idea if you ask me... :frowning:
Actually, I thought ABC was showing "Destination: Lost" as the season 1 recap episode before the new season 2 episode. "Lost: The Journey" was shown before the first season had even ended, so it certainly can't recap the entire first season. (And hopefully "Destination: Lost" won't have that...
I agree completely. The bleeping adds to the COPS-like nature of the show. Releasing this as "uncensored" seems like a cheap marketing ploy that, rather than adding to the humor of the skits, actually detracts from it. I'll keep my bleeps any day.
Well, I just ordered Hero, and it comes out to about $27. Not bad in my mind for the Elite Group release minus the 2nd disc, which isn't even subtitled anyways as far as I can tell. :) Thanks, Mathieu!
Hey folks, as surprising as it may sound, I love Hero but have never bought it on DVD. I was waiting for the Miramax release, but after hearing how screwed up that was, I didn't buy it. I'd love to get the Japanese R2 Elite Group version for its beautiful picture and sound, but don't have $35+...
Herb, is there a way you could contact WB and see what's going on with the numbers popping up on the screen? If this is a new form of copy protection, it's just sad... :frowning:
I guess I always expected WB to have revisited this by now, which is why I was waiting. It always seems like whenver I wait and wait to buy a release, BAM!, someone announces a new super-duper special edition... Always my luck. :)
In another weird twist, it seems DVD Answers is reporting that it no longer is the soundtrack but an actual second disc of content. http://www.dvdanswers.com/index.php?...5104&n=1&burl= Oh well.
