I don't have a problem purchasing from an online store as long as I know they are reputable. I bought my pre/pro and amp from a store I found online ~ $6,000
You might want to mention how many component inputs you need. And more importantnly, how much are you willing to spend? Point of diminishing returns depends on your income and savings and overall worth, IMO, so only you can set this point. I was going to suggest the Iscan Ultra HD, not...
My work has a projector they're using for presentations. Being an HT nut I set up our conference room with speakers and sub from one of our computers and brought in a laptop with a DVD player and popped in Matrix and Toy Story 2. Two of my co-workers are hooked and are asking me to help them...
Me too, I've been able to get 10%-15% my store. NickC, I've called B&W before about this while looking at their CDM line. From previous models, they seem to have about a 4-5 shelf time before they do an upgrade. The CDM for example was realeased on 1999 so I'm expecting to see some new line...
Chris, Contact Samsung, they are aware that the first batch of players could not display 1080i. They will send you an upgrade CD as a fix. They will ask for you serial.
Thanks for the update Rick. I'm thinking of getting this DVD, but since I can't find it locally, I'm gonna have to order online. Besides not being able to display 1080i, have you found any other bugs on this unit? Thanks again.
Now I'm convinced I'm behind a firewall. I can enter the "SMR Forums" link you posted above, but as soon as I click "Enter", it gives me the page cannot be displayed screen. I was trying to find the register button but I think I need to "Enter" first. I may have to try this link at my home...
Gary, Thanks for mentioning Sherbourn. That's actually one of the amps I'm looking at (7/2100). I haven't demoed it yet, but am curious if anyone else had that on their list before making their final choice.
Steve, Does your satellite have two sets of outputs or one. If you have two, I would suggest running one directly to your MC-8 input and the other set of outputs to your vcr in. Your vcr should be on channel 3 (sometimes 4, depending on how your vcr is setup). If your sat only has one set...
What's your price limit? I listened to the Rotel RSX-1055 today and it sounds great. But I believe this one retails for $1,500. My brother has the Denon AVR-1803 with B&W 601's/600's, I think it sounds excellent together. This one retails for 499 I believe. I haven't heard any new...
This thread has me curious... How do you do a trade up? Is ther a fixed price retailers are paying for the MC-1? Would it be sensible to purchase a used MC-1 from audiogon for example, and go to your dealer and trade it up?
I bought some B&W 600's from these guys last month and got a great deal (around 15% off). They're mostly custom but they do carry some products in their showroom and they do carry Paradigm's. Ask your friend to give them a call. SOUND COMPONENTS 1533 MADRUGA AVE., CORAL GABLES, MIAMI...
I hope someone responds to your post. I too am very interested in these two. I also really don't care too much about the amp because I will be adding a separate amp.
What remote are you using? I used this with an OFA remote then learned it to my MX-500. Same code worked for both RPTV and VCR Mitsubishi. http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/discrete.shtml
My brother's budget was lower than yours (at 1,000). He went with a pair of 601's for the mains, a pair of 600 for surround and the LCR60 for center. Retail on these were $1,150, but the dealer let it go for $1,050. With your budget of up to 2K, with some haggleing you should be able to get...
