Win a Denon X5200W 9.2 channel Dolby Atmos AVR with a copy of Insurgent on Blu-ray!

It's official. My 2012 Hitachi rear projection just crapped the bed. Need to upgrade to a new 4K LED but my old sound system powered by and old Denon and Adcom 5550 won't do the trick anymore with new technology. The new Denon would be a saving grace :)

Win an Onkyo TX-NR1030 9.2 channel Dolby Atmos AV Receiver (Redux)

My poor home theater room is in serious need of updating. Still watching 57swx rear projection Hitachi with a Denon avr3802. Finally finished 8 years of undergrad payments and 4 years medical school for the kids. This would start some serious "me" time in the a/v world again.

What are you cleaning your screen with?

Swiffers contain a waxy/oily substance that would make a bigger mess than you probably already have. Follow the distilled water advice above. Tim

Hitachi WX series HDTV - Tips and Tweaks?

Stephen, I have the 57swx20b and he told me he has done a number of them and that they are very receptive to calibration. I've read a few customer's reviews to date and everyone has been thrilled with his work. I'm counting the weeks until he arrives. Tim

Any info or reviews on the new Hitachi UltraVision Digital Directors Series 57XWX20B?

Jeff, PQ was about the same on DVD with component. My DISH PQ with composite was markedly better on the 57". It is still not anywhere near what I would call good, but the kids tolerate it. I would rather watch cable on my 13" Tosh in the kitchen and then head into the next room when it's time...

Any info or reviews on the new Hitachi UltraVision Digital Directors Series 57XWX20B?

I'm waiting for the DISH PVR921, their HDTV Tuner/Recorder that will have a DVI connection (DirectTV will have a HDTV/ TIVO unit by the end of the year supposedly) so the built in tuner on the XWX wasn't an issue for me. Plus, back in December 2002 there was a $1500 price difference between the...

Any info or reviews on the new Hitachi UltraVision Digital Directors Series 57XWX20B?

I had the 65swx for a day before switching to the 57swx. The swx series is basically the xwx without the HD tuner and fancy black cabinet. The 65 was too big and the PQ was too soft for my likes. Overall, the reviews I've read over the last six months confirm my experiences so far. I'm looking...

    Quick question about RPTV's

Hitachi's inputs can be accessed on demand via 5 separate video buttons and one Ant button which toggles A/B on the remote. Calibration as I understand it is done via input for component, dvi, composite etc.

    My Dilemma: 50" or 57"

Chris, I sit at the exact distance from my Hitachi 57swx20b. I went to CC to buy it in December and the salesman showed me an open box on a 65swx20b for only $150 more. My wife was with me and either she can't pass up a good deal or she heard about "bigger is better" and said she liked the 65"...

Jeff, I saw on another forum that they were doing maintenance. I got there briefly yesterday. I think it is a hit or miss thing until they are finished. Tim
