I just received an email from Lisa Lucas (Addie) and thought I would post it: Hi Ronald Yes, it is me, Addie. Anyway, I would be happy to autograph your DVD but I wish I could find something better than just my signature. I will see if I have any old photos from the filming of the shows...
With all of the interest here "your gonna need a bigger petition!" :-) Good luck! Coincidentaly I saw them film some of it in the summer of 1974 on Martha's Vinyard when I was 14.
I should have thought of this before but I dug out the VHS box and it says Fox video. I will email them or contact them somehow, perhaps too late for this season though.
I wonder who owns this so that we can ask about a forthcoming DVD. I have the VHS version but it is not very good as the tracking keeps drifting when played. An interesting story, years ago I asked my local video store if they could order "A House without a Christmas tree" for the holidays...
Love this early 70's holiday nugget. As far as I can tell, it has not been released on DVD. I noticed on IMDB it had the "DVD" flag lit under USA but when I clicked on it, it brought me to Amazons site saying it is not available yet on DVD with no date given. Does this mean it will soon be...
I came across a neat little book recently, its a lawyers take on the movie and quite humorous. But I have forgotten the title and author, has anyone seen it or remember it?
I ask this partly in jest but also in seriousnes as well. For instance 2 movies that I love and haven't seen since I switched over to DVD in 1998 are "The Brinks Job" and "The Friends of Eddie Coyle." Both these movies have good reviews, good direction and stellar cast. Yet with hundreds older...
What really needs work and would be absolutely stunning is "The Quiet Man." The DVD is just mushy as I am sure it has been noted here before, but can you imagine what this film would look like if it were given the treatment.
With Mr. Cooke's recent passing I got to wondering if this series is out on DVD yet or if anyone has heard if it will be released? I haven't seen it in 20 years but remember it as being very good. Thanks
I would have to say, "A house without a Christmas tree" deserves a place on the platter. It came out in 1972 as a Hallmark Hall of Fame starring Jason Robards, Mildred Natwick and the girl who plays the protagonist. Excellent production and writing and a tug at the old heart strings.
