They may have changed them recently...when did you purchase your set? I bought my set back in the summer of 2005 (I think?)..it was whenever they had remarketed it again to promote that god-awful big-screen version.
Add The Honeymooners (Classic 39) and Vol. 1 of the Beavis & Butt-head Mike Judge Collection to the list of cloudy discs. I stumbled across this thread today and am glad I did. First noticed the problem with Honeymooners about 3 months back, but didn't notice any playback issues, so it...
Strangely enough I had stumbled across the YouTube credits clips the other night..probably hadn't seen them since they originally aired. :) I had forgotten about the huge crush I had on Donna Pescow in that show.....man she was cute. Showing my age when I remember watching "Airplane" for...
Didn't see a thread opened up for this, but today (June 11th) is the 25th anniversary of the premiere of everyone's favorite Reeses Pieces eating extra-terrestrial. Yet another in the chain of 1982 released "silver anniversaries" to make us all feel reeeeeeally old. :-) Will likely go home...
I meant to post the Blazing Saddles connection the morning after the episode, looks like great minds think alike....LOL I have this image of Tom/Mr. Friendly in the Slim Pickens role: "Dharma Initiative Thruway"?? What'll those a**holes think of next...." Guess that would make Ben...
The real sequel to "Aliens". I know many people are fans of Alien 3, and I have to admit I have somewhat warmed to it over the years (mostly because of Fincher's style and the production design)...the less said about Alien: Resurrection the better.
To BrandonJF: Haven't seen the new RH disc yet to watch the trivia track, but just saw online that, MST3K's Mike Nelson has just started a new website called "RiffTrax" www.rifftrax.com, where for a nominal fee ($1.99 for the first movie), you can download a full length "MST" style comedic...
To the best of my knowledge...(and it's been a while since I've watched some of his titles), the only scene-specific commentary I've heard from Zemeckis was his track on Used Cars with Gale and Kurt Russell. It's a great, and funny commentary, sort of what I term a "pizza and beer" commentary...
Man, watching the E! True Hollywood Story really paid off!!! :D I knew I'd seen him somewhere before.
Are my eyes deceiving me or is that Cybill Shepherd standing to his left??
Glad to hear Bernard Fox is still alive and well, I had lost track after "Titanic" came out, and was surprised that...
Is that William Asher? (Show's producer and Elizabeth Montgomery's ex-husband)
How sad is it that I know this?!?!?!? ;)
Think Erin Murphy or Bernard Fox are somewhere in that scene?
Ironically...I had the Rhino 2-CD Superman soundtrack spinning in my car on the way to work today, but didn't hear the news until I got there...just heartbreaking...flashed back to where I was when I heard the news of his accident 9 years ago. Godspeed, Chris... I hope (and pray) that...
Sorry it took so long to get back... Now I don't have a WS monitor or anything, so I can't give too detailed review, but the picture quality is decent. A little bit of grain is present here and there, mostly in the nightclub/nighttime scenes, which may be a result of Oliver Wood's...
Just a quick bump for this topic as I found a (VERY) early copy today (the retailer shall remain nameless). Not bad for a $9.99 retail disc..paid just a hair under $6 for it. Haven't had a chance to view it yet, (will take care of that when I get home tonight) but it does include both...
God, I hope this comes true.... The direct to video movie would have been nice too, but who can argue about 35 new episodes ! :D Just do whatever it takes to get the complete original voice cast back (I don't think that should be a problem), and we're set. Now we might get a bit of that...
It's going to have taken me (hopefully) 3 trips to WM to get everything right today... 7:45 am, walk in and almost trip over a HUGE pallet of Nemo that looks like it was dropped (discs hanging out of ripped cardboard shelves). $14.72, not bad, no price match needed. Head back to the...
There's nothing like throwing the Raiders soundtrack CD in your car and blaring it through the Wal-Mart parking lot at 7am... :D Went in with my handy-dandy Eckerd's flyer, grabbed me a Widescreen set ($46.82 on the scanner), walked up to the express lane, price-matched to $34.99 with no...
Ron- You're in for another good time with Season 3. I think the envelope is even pushed further with the last batch of episodes that were made. I started watching the show from its post-Super Bowl premiere back in 1999. (mostly because I used to work with a guy who could pass for Peter...
Hmm....let's see here... Well,my earliest movie memory was seeing 2001: A Space Odyssey at the grand old Saenger Theatre here in New Orleans. I must have been 2 or 3 at the time (was on a re-release, as it was first released the year I was born.) Can you imagine what the stargate sequence did...
