That's kind of the reason for my post. I'm trying to find out what is thought of these units, and their performance.

I am currently in the market for a lower priced receiver, to run TV sound, and mainly DVD's. What does everyone seem to think of the Onkyo TSXR500 or the TSXR600. I recently purchased DVCP-500 DVD changer, and would like everything to match.

I may just try the receiver. What do you think of the Onkyo models?

I recently purchased an Onkyo 5 DVD changer (DVCP-500). Now, when audio is run through my JVC RX884-V receiver, via the optical cable, the audio cuts out once for about 3 seconds after about 1/2 hour of use. After this happens, the sound quality changes, and voices and such becomed "gargled"...
