I purchased DVDpedia early this year. After using it for a couple of months they upgraded the software but you had to pay for it, because they deemed the update 'significant'. I refused. When I buy software I expect that future upgrades are included with the price, now matter how significant...
Me, too, I'm suprised to hear about this news. But I applaud the switch to slimline cases. I wish they did it with the Wayne/Ford-set as well.. it's frickin' huge.
Got these two candidates for DVD of the year: VALLEY OF THE DOLLS SE $ 15.42 BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS SE $ 15.42 ..and two Antonioni masterpieces: L'AVVENTURA (CRITERION) $ 23.99 L'ECLISSE (CRITERION) $ 23.99
Excellent to hear Double Vie is getting released!
3/27:
Eric Rohmer's Tales of the Four Seasons-box (A Tale of Springtime; A Winter's Tale; A Summer's Tale; An Autumn Tale) AE [R2 UK]
I'm afraid all promotional images of Warner boxsets look as slim as that Peckinpah-box. Here are some examples: I wish they'd start using slimlines, though. Those keepcase-sets are taking up tons of space!
I have the Korean. Judging by screencaps it is the same transfer as the Image. The quality is not that bad though. Considering the low price it's a decent stop-gap solution.
That's wonderful news, Andrew!
I can also confirm that another highly anticipated title will make its DVD-debut on R2. Mike Leigh's Naked will be released this August in the Netherlands, courtesy of NRC/Homescreen.
Another wonderful review, Herb. Judging by the extra's alone (extensive docs on Grant, Hepburn, Cukor and Hawks) this is going to be one of the sets of the year!
