I just bought the Onkyo SP-800 and it has the stnadard optical out and coxial out. What should I connect to my integra receiver since it accepts both? What is better in quality or is there a difference?
I was in the same boat just before xmas of last year. I had an intrest in the tivo / replay tv for some time but always put it on the back burner. I bit the bullet and went to buy one just before xmas, and after long hard consideration I went with tivo. I could have kicked myself soo much for...
Ok I got my Radio Shack SPL meter.. where can I go to tweak this system now. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. Did a search not much came up.
I called Oade this morning and ordered one.. as the combo of sacd and dvd-audio is a major plus. I am not that picky when it comes to video.. as long as its good to great its ok by me.. I don't expect it to be impeccable. Received a lot of good opinions as usual and I thank you. ;) ;)
Save and buy the SVSPCi.. I had a JBL PSW-1200 sub that I thought was great, but after hearing soooo much talk about these SVS subs and their liberal return policy I thought I would give it a go. Only thing I can say now is that "You can have my SVS sub when you pry my cold dead fingers from...
My SVS sub has a stereo RCA inputs on the amp, the receiver has a sub preout that is mono/one channel. My question is that do i just buy the mono sub cable then hook it to the left or right channel on the sub or do I need to buy a 2 to 1 adapter? thanks :frowning:
I just bought the Omni FX for the rears. They best matched my Monitor 7's from Paradigm and I like the fact that they disperse the sound in a 360 degree manner. They sounded the best from all the rear speakers I listened to. They remind me of the Paradigm rears but alittle cheaper. They look...
I have 8 gauge twisted pair speaker wire comming for my fronts and center. Is this too large or would that be ok? What is recommended sizes for fronts/center and rears?
"So if the wire to your left speaker is a foot shorter than the wire to your right speaker, merely move your head one millionth of a foot to the right to compensate. " Hahaha I like that.
Ok I was told by my home theater dealer that you should make the wires to the fronts and center all the same length. He contiunued to explain about something of the human ears can detect upto 15ms delay or something.. Now I guess my question is this true? Before I wired up my speakers long...
Whelp I couldn't wait.. I had my Monitor 7's in boxes for a week now and wanted to see if the 700 bucks was worth the investment. I was upgrading from a cheap pair of JBL towers before, well cheap meaning like 300 for the pair. I know these Paradigm's are not their best and many you probably...
True.. I am not as picky on video as most of you are. I like a good quality picture but am no expert on chroma, artifacts and what not. My main concerns too as that I get good video coupled with SACD and DVD-Audio in one player. With that said you think this player is worth $1,000?
This seems to be a reasonably priced all in one player with great audio and great video features. Am I just looking at the wrong specs or is this player what I need when I want great video, dvd-audio and sacd capability? thanks :emoji_thumbsup:
Ok I think its time to upgrade the dvd player too.. I wanted to wait but I think it really enjoy my system I want a dvd with dvd-audio capability. Things I want.. DVD Audio, Good Progressive scan output, ability to read my dvd-r discs without too much fuss, maybe one that supports the new cd...
Thanks Chris that made a lot of sense. I will take your advice and try to find both locally. Only problem I see now is that I might not be able to find both same place with the same speaker setups, which would probably make a difference too.
Yes I think I need that MCACC setup as you guys refer to it.. see told you I am a HT newbie =) You talk dB and levels I get lost, I just want a great sounding "WOW" system for me and the family without breaking the bank. Now the statement that "Pioneer setup feature is a really nice feature...
Hello! I have read these forums for some time now and I would like to thank all that give great advice to budding home theater enthusiasts like myself. Recently I have been bitten by the upgrade bug, and junking my Sony and JBL stuff for some higher end equipment. I need just one main...
