I picked this up the other day, I'm kinda disappointed in the disc itself. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the box sets, but no special features/behind the scenes stuff at all? I've always liked the film itself though, other than (as others have mentioned) the weapons system. Always found the...
Just to chime in on the discussion of the Agents, I've always regarded them (as a few others have mentioned/alluded to) as "rent-a-cops" for the system of the Matrix. Their sole purpose actually has very little to do with unplugged humans in any direct sense. They exist to ensure the continuing...
I'm kicking myself for not seeing this in the theater (NOT a Vin fan). I did love Pitch Black, so while stopping in BB to get ATHF Season 3, I grabbed the (ahem, want to make sure I get this right LOL) Widescreen Unrated Director's Cut w/Bonus Disc. WAY exceeded my expectations...It's obvious...
second for Metallica's S&M. Especially nice is the seperate audio tracks...band only, orchestra only, and the band + orchestra 5.1 track makes excellent use of all channels, besides sounding great.
Picked this up at BB on Tuesday with the bonus disc. Looks gorgeous and sounds fantastic, definitely a good time had by all, especially with Halloween right around the corner. side note...the BB employees were absolutely clueless about the bonus disc, whether it was in the package...
Saw this Friday morning and absolutely loved it. "Fun" was absolutely the first and best description to come to mind. It looked and sounded absolutely gorgeous. There were a few points that I didn't care for, however. Not a huge Paltrow fan, and didn't find her performance to be terribly...
Saw this it's second weekend...theater was probably half full or so. Definitely enjoyed it for what it was worth...especially David Wenham. Everyone else obviously had a great time, lots of "nyuk nyuks" on the way out the door. Can't wait for the DVD :emoji_thumbsup: :D
UHF Starship Troopers Matrix Reloaded & Revolutions Star Trek Nemesis Van Helsing and I'm sure there's a few other turkeys I can't think of right now ;)
Joe, MS has released a spiffy add-in for Outlook that automates this...just download and install, tell it how often you want to back up your PST, and where to store it, and you're done. The latest version of the add-in works with Outlook 2000 and later. You can grab it here...
Dave, I was horribly disappointed with Metroid Prime as well. Of course being a Quake 1 guy, it just seems like I never get along with any sort of FPS on a console ;) Jonathan Carter mentioned Viewtiful Joe...yes, it's most definitely difficult, but I've also found it to be one of the most...
Definitely Cardinal and Red Storm...and I would kill for a faithful Rainbow Six film. Also I'd love to see David Brin's Startide Rising made...hopefully it would be successful enough to get more of the Uplift books on the screen.
Actually, my initial thought was that it was Geoffrey Rush...I find that the king of the dead looks an awful lot like Barbossa from Pirates of the Caribbean :)
Saw the 11am yesterday (seeing the 11am again today, and probably the 5:30pm with someone else :D), absolutely stunning, amazing, (insert superlatives here)! Loved every second of it. A few tiny nits to pick... #1 The orc captain, as mentioned by others. From the second I saw him, I just kept...
Hi John, As far as I can tell from the documentation, as well as tooling around in the receiver's configuration, the 1604 only has a single global config, and not seperate configs for each mode.
edit: Mods, this thread may have drifted into Receiver Forum territory, please move it if you deem it necessary. Thanks! Alright, version 2 of this post. :) Rick, the 1604 does have a direct mode, and everything works perfectly in it. Unfortunately it's not really an option since...
Thanks for the suggestions Rick, I will take a look at that when I get home. I went through the docs for the receiver pretty thoroughly and don't recall seeing anything about the "bypass" you mentioned, but I'm gonna grab the PDF and read through again. Thanks!
This is probably horribly stupid, but I'm still trying to get the hang of all of this. I have a Sony SA-WM500 connected to the pre-out of my Denon 1604. When playing 5.1/6.1 material, everything sounds great. However, when playing plain old stereo material such as the radio or a normal music CD...
Following some of the recommendations I've seen on here, I just picked up the JBL NSP1-II 5-speaker package from Buy.com for about $250 (just search for "nsp1"), and a Sony SA-WM500 sub for about $150 after shipping via Yahoo's shopping engine (Hypaudio.com I think). Have them hooked to a Denon...
David, Thank you for the review! I hadn't seen this in the theater, and picked it up as an impulse buy after reading your review. I have to say, I love it!
