Anybody know? I sometimes download 24/96 audio files of concerts and burn them to DVD-A format, but I can't seem to find anyone that sells the "old" cases for DVD-Audios... Thanks for any help!
Maybe this is a dumb question, as I'm a newbie when it comes to LPs, but... If a recording session is recorded digitally, then eventually pressed to vinyl, is it even possible to get that warm, analog sound that might be found in older LPs?
Subject says it all. I'm getting kinda tired of the poor selection on DVD-A and SACD. I love all sorts of music, but the only stuff coming out on SACD only seems to be classical. Call me a late bloomer audiophile-wannabe. :) Also, regarding that "analog" sound of vinyl - is that even possible...
I wonder how many people that are buying "HD-DVD" don't understand that you need a special player to view them? Sounds silly to people that frequent these forums, I know, but I bet it happens...
So, is there even a *hint* of music albums coming out on Blu-Ray or HD-DVD? And would there even be a market for it? Neither DVD-A or SACD exactly flew off the shelves...
I know there's a lot of A/V magazines out there, and was wondering what people on this board liked. I've picked up a few now & then, but haven't found any that really grabbed me. I guess I'm looking for SACD/DVD-A/CD reviews, new equiptment reviews of components that cost less than my house...
They now list 45 titles for SACDs, which is nice, but nothing that goes into my 'must-have' collection. Half of them are either Bob Dylan or Elton John discs. They've also got a Diana Krall dualdisc if anyone's interested....
This website search engine is retarded. I'm trying to search for SACD's, and still can't get a straight answer. If I search for "SACD" under Album Title, I get 9 one time, and a different answer the next. If I search for " SACD" I get a slightly different answer (from 13 to 19) each time...
I just don't think this business model is going to be a hit with the majority of music lovers out there. We rent things because we can't afford to own (like renting an apartment instead of buying a house). This just looks like a step backward. Besides, I think it's only a matter of time...
It seems as though they disabled the ability to search for "SACD" titles. I know it worked last week for me, but it doesn't now. Anyone else have this problem?
Maybe this is why the site seemed slow the last time I was on it, everyone is using their Xmas gift certificates... The site is kinda like buying an option on your music. Download a song; if you don't like it enough to buy the whole album, you're only out 99 cents. But if you later buy the...
Looks like they're still around, although now charging 2 cents per MB. Here's an article I found featuring an interview with the CIO: http://www.technewsworld.com/story/34512.html Anyone here use this site?
