    Why Cats?

I like dogs too but I don't feel I have time to care for one properly, exercise wise and attention wise. Would ideally like a couple of cats and a couple of dogs but Smudgey is enough for now. :D

The End of an Era-- Jackie Chan uses Stunt Doubles

The end of an era indeed but like everyone else has said, he is going to contribute to action films for years to come one way or another (director, stund coordinator, fight coreography...) What a guy :)

Possible casting for the New Wonder Woman movie?...

Is this gonna be one of those movies that is all rumours for years and is never gonna get made (like Bewitched) I heard ages ago that Lucy Lawless had agreed to star in Wonderwoman and thought she would be great. Now who knows what on earth is happening. Who will swing that rope of truth...

    Simpsons renewed through 2005

I love the Simpsons but it can be a bit hit and miss. Unfortunately it is shown a bit sporadically here. I have no idea what season we are on but Sky One (where the most current series is shown) seems to put on a new episode every fortnight or so. It is on Sky One every day but all the shows are...

    Taken/Buffy (UK viewer here...)

Buffy Episode 1 series 7 :D :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: Great opener. Loved the whole shape shifty thing at the end. Jonothan then Gloria then Adam then the Mayor...brilliant. And mad Spike! Not so sure I like "at one with the earth" Willow. Hope she chills a bit over the series...

    what's all this decoding stuff??

:emoji_thumbsup: Cheers everyone. I knew I would still have my hi-fi sound (it's hooked up to the telly) but I wondered if I could hook up extra speakers to the DVD player. I suppose I could hook up another 2 speakers to my hi-fi but I think I will jsut wait and stick with my hi-fi the way it is...

    what's all this decoding stuff??

Thanks Jeffrey. Will I be able to hook speakers up to my DVD player in the meantime without a receiver? In other words, before being able to afford the expense of a decent receiver, will I be able to hook speakers up to it just to get a fairly good sound (albeit not proper surround sound)

    Perfect Performance by an Actress

I particularly like both Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis' performances in Thelma and Louise. I pretty much judge performances on whether I believe the characters are "real" or just well acted. For the duration of the film I believe that Thelma and Louise are real characters. Pretty fine acting in...

    Thoughts about Julie London

I only have "Julie London - The Liberty Years" but I think she is a great singer. What a voice! She sings "Hard Harted Hannah" like nobody else can as well as "Fly Me To the Moon" Although I like Barbra Streisands version almost as much, her "Cry Me A River" is the business. :)

    what's all this decoding stuff??

I was going to buy some speakers seperate from my new DVD player but I am completely flummoxed. Here is where I am at so far: I am going to buy a standalone player at the end of the month (currently using PS2 with hifi speakers) and will probably get a cheaper end Pioneer multiregion. This...

    cinema rage

Well,it isn't just me then! I didn't think this thread would get so many responses. I actually work front of house in theatre and most of the time the audiences know when to shoosh but more and more we are finding that there are people with rustling sweety wrappers that don't realise that the...

Why does this cat look mad?

That is terrible and really cruel if it was doen for no reason at all. It is like making a person walk about naked with no protection from the elements at all. If that was done for no reason other than some cruel person's idea of amusement then it has made me

    Bob Gale chat

I didn't know where to post this so here seems as good (or bad) a place as any! I was just wondering if there are transcripts of all the interviews carried out on here and where they are posted. In other words, will I be able to read the entire Bob Gale chat after it is done with? Ta!

"Six Feet Under" returns March 2nd.

I love that show! Will have to wait a little longer for it to get to the UK but it'll be worth the wait. I take it it is series 3 that you mean? We have had series 1 and 2 here and am just wondering.

    Region 2 and Dot Crawl/Shimmering

A bit of a story first: I am in the middle of upgrading all my viewing/audio equipment and have started with my tv. Now have a 28" Panasonic flat widescreen :D Love it. Anyhow, on my old Panasonic square telly I never noticed dot crawl at all. I am pretty sure it was there, the picture was...

    Taken/Buffy (UK viewer here...)

Hope there isn't already an official "Taken" thread. Couldn't find it. Anyhow, we are only on the first episode here in the UK and somebody...pleeeeease....tell me it gets better! Maybe I just hyped it in me head too much but....sheesh, it is not so good. Another 9 episodes to get better...
