    Center Speaker-Can't Understand dialogue

Daryl, So what model Klipsch did you end up with? Sounds like it has a built in amp? Eric, What's a good movie to do a test? The first 2 Lord of the Rings I still had problems with. The Matrix has been okay.

    satellite speakers vs. bookshelf/floorstanding

I couldn't find any answers to my question when doing a search on this site. I have the Sony SW40 and was wondering if I went with satellite speakers, would I lose any audio quality. Can subwoofers compensate for a lack of a woofer on the satellites? Does size really count and an overall full...

    Center Speaker-Can't Understand dialogue

Well I went to Best Buy last night. They had the complete JBL Northridge set up. Let me tell you, the sound was incredible! They had 4 ft jbl speakers up front. I don't know why it sounded so good, but my home theater setup doesn't come close. It maybe due to the fact that there was cranked up...

How many here have German Speakers??

I have owned a pair of Canton Karat 100s for 20 years now. They still sound great. In fact I've never found them lacking one bit.

    Center Speaker-Can't Understand dialogue

Well, I tried everything suggested this weekend. I recalibrated everything and pushed my center volume up 3 dbs. I noticed that I could NOT adjust my treble or bass whenever we were in movie mode. The panasonic goes directly to Dolby Digital whenever we watch movies. I also ensured my panasonic...

    Center Speaker-Can't Understand dialogue

Okay, I've turned up the treble and set the distancing. Not much better. I have noticed that the dialogue is awful with dvds, but not bad with Directv. Our panasonic dvd player is 6 years old. Is it possible that the technology back then isn't up to par with home theater systems today...

    Center Speaker-Can't Understand dialogue

Wayne, You've nailed my problem right on the head! It is boomy and the dialogue does not sound crisp at all. I do have the sony subwoofer(the one this forum has recommended), but have not turned up any of the treble at all. In fact, I'm starting to think I haven't heard any highs in a long...

    Center Speaker-Can't Understand dialogue

I checked my speaker distance last night. They were set at 4 feet. We're 10 ft. away from the center speaker so I've had to fix that. My Panasonic HE-70 turns the digital sound processing off whenever there's a dts or dolby digital signal. I'll see this weekend to see if it helps. I'll keep you...

    Center Speaker-Can't Understand dialogue

Yes, I cranked the center up 4 db. That makes the center speaker much louder than the others. When calibrating with the RS Soundmeter, aren't the speakers supposed to be all equal? I don't do anything with delay settings. I just keep it at Digital Surround Sound.

    Center Speaker-Can't Understand dialogue

I have a jbl tlx center speaker which is equivalent to the Northridge ones right now. For the life of me, whenever we watch movies, we can't understand the dialogue! We have to resort to subtitles to watch movies. I've calibrated my Home Theater with the sound meter from Radioshack, but it still...

    Panasonic he70 vs. Yamaha 5540?

Hi, I'm upgrading from a Yamaha R-v703 Pro-Logic receiver I bought about 4 yrs. ago. Since I don't want to spend too much on receiver $200 and less(considering that technology changes so quickly and I don't want to spend a lot to upgrade everytime), I want to know what you all thought was...

JBL TLX Center2- Any good? Any info appreciated.

I'm trying to find out why I can't hear out of my center speaker very well and was wondering if the JBL TLX Center2 could be the problem. Is the center any good? I bought it from BB 4 yrs. ago for $169 and am hoping it's not the reason why I can't hear dialogue very well. Thanks, Danny
