http://www2.autospies.com/article/in...3&categoryId=1 From Autospies.com Is it just us or are the BOSE systems installed from the factory in most high end cars (Mercedes, Infiniti etc), THE most overrated systems EVER! Every time we listen to one of these systems the sound is muddy and...
Picked up the AR 108S the last day of the year last year and it works wonderful. It is way better than my Bose Acoustimass module... . I finally hear the bass all nice....and smooth. Try Etronics.com they got some low priced subwoofers.
I wish I can, but at etronics you could only buy but I've heard the Sony at Best Buy several times and it sounds quite nice but then again the AR can sound even better. I think i'll go with the AR.
Hey, everyone. I'm thinking about getting either the Acoustic Research or Sony. I am unsure which to get. The AR is going for $99 at J and R and I can pick it up myself. But Etronics has the Sony for $133 however if you open you can't return it. . That's a major blow for me. I was...
I have an Onkyo TX-SR500 reciever and I gotta turn it up to like 60 - 75 to hear well on surround modes as well, I think it's normal. What volume do you have on your speakers like -12 or +12 etc...?
I'm sure you can use the satellites of the Gallo but not the subwoofer, because the satellites would be connected to the bass module. But why would you get a Bose Lifestyle 28 and not use the speakers it comes with. If you're going do something like that get something else. :)
A small reciever that would be nice is the Harman Kardon 7.1-Channel Dolby Digital EX/DTS®-ES Surround Sound Receiver HK DPR1001 for $999. And then throw in a nice slim DVD player + Gallo speakers you will enjoy. :)

Gosh you guys must really hate my Bose Acoustimass 15.:frowning:
I know most of you guys hate or maybe all of you but commont can't you guys be nice somewhat? :)
I have a Sony DVD player it does not play SACD or DVD-Audio however when comparing optical and multi-channel analog inputs, using the multi-channel input seems to make my satellites less tiny sounding. With the optical input the satellite sound almost like they have no bass. Just my opinion. :)
Todd the Onkyo NR900 has been out for about 3 months now I believe, so it is still new. There is no new one around the corner. Steve, as a current Onkyo owner I know the recievers will allow you to save your channel levels, crossovers, etc... :)
I am wondering what is a good brand DVD player for under $100. I am just going to use this in a bedroom, but it would be nice if it played Mp3, CD-R, and CD-RWs. Thanks.:)
James CB , Bose allows that because that is their pro audio speakers. They have specs for all their pro audio speakers. Go visit the Bose Pro audio website. They also have the frequency response for the Bose Acoustimass system there.
I know Bose might sound like crap to most of you, but I have one and still think it's not crap. But at least Bose created competition in the home theater business and showed small speakers can make big sound whether or not it's good or not. :)
If you are going to spend less than $400, I would recommend you just keep your reciever. The Onkyo 575x is one of the better Onkyo recievers, even better than the current line they have. If you are going to spend around $700 I would think it will be worth the upgrade but not $400.
I would say the Denon would definitly improve the sound of your system compared with the Sony. The Sony may say it has 100 w however I seriously doubt it does. The Denon's rating is more accuarate. And the built quality I would think is superb compared to that of the Sony.
