THE WILD BUNCH on DVD (MERGED THREAD including current disc and possible SE)
Get the Japanese version. It's anamorphic widescreen with better picture quality.

Non-anamorphic DVDs released in 2003?
Miramax (under Disney) DVD sucks! My "The Horseman on the Roof" also letterbox only. Though the transfer is not bad.

Any word on a Coen Brothers box set?
Coen Bros diehard fan could buy R2(Japan) 5 discs boxset. All anamorphic widescreen format.

Stan Brakhage died Sunday March 9 in Victoria, British Columbia, of complications from an infection. He was 70. Let God bless Him!

The Conformist ?
Japan Amuse co. has released 'Il Conformista' DVD years ago. With Italian mono audio track/1.85:1 widescreen anamorphic format, and Japanese subtitle only. Running time: 113 mins. As You can see, picture quality is fantastic:

Eraserhead DVD now available for purchase
Those can't afford R1 "Eraserhead", might get a R2(Japan) substitute. 3,800 Yen, DD 2.0/16:9 Squeeze Here is a captured image sample:

Another Sam Peckinpah film getting a R1 2-Disc SE DVD!!
Good news, but Closed Caption sucks, why not subtitle? BTW, Japan's Wild Bunch is anamorphic (1 disc/2 sides), only 1,500 Yen.
