Any info on when HD DVD is arriving?

Ok, do I wait for the HD2 chip to come down after the initial rush for it or do I join the fray and grab it now? From my brief research it sounds like this chip has a LOT to offer and the price will most likely drop after the initial release. Any thoughts on the new chip? thank you
