Thanks for the reply Brian. I was under the impression that none of the DVD recorders (except a few with a hard drive, but still arent connected the the DVD side) have Component inputs. Is this not the case? What other ways are there to hook this machine (or any others) to Hi Def receivers?
I just got a Pioneer DVR 210 from Santa. First DVD recorder. Replacing a JVC 65. Will use it for main DVD player as well as recorder. I have Digital/Hi-def cable and Hitachi 57" projection screen. I also hace the Time Warner Hi Def Tuner/recorder. I mainly wanted this unit to record from the hi...
Spray with Flek-stone (or similiar). Then (after dried throughly) spray with a good quality satin black paint. You can then apply a clear coat if desired,
How good are the BlueJean RGB video cables? How about compared to the MonsterCable Video 3 line? I am using them between my JVC progressivi scan dvd ant Hitachi 57swx20b as well as my HiDef digital cable box. Any real difference at all? Also how are there single cables for subwoofer use...
Well i'm a Polk man myself, but I really can't reccomend the RTi 70's. I had them for about a month and just couldn't stand them. They sounded like small bookshelfs in really big enclosures. I love their bookshelf speakers, for bookshelf speakers. I got rid of the 70's and got the Polk LSi 15's...
Doug, Thanks for the reply... unfortunately, it's a litle late. I found out the hard way about the upper 3 pots. I barely touched them and HOLY &*^% !! I tried to get them back to original, but may be off a touch... I think it's probably off less than I think it is in my head... Is there a good...
Doug, My sharpness is set to 34. I have double checked my cables and they are correct ( and they are monster cabel m500 series) I even bypassed my a/v receiver ( has component switching capabilities) and seemed to improve somewhat. Thanks
MikeM Thanks for the reply. I used the "Sound & Vision" version of the calibration DVD to set it up after it had been on for about 10 hours. It did improve, but I guess I'm expecting better. DVD's are my biggest complaint. I have a JVC DVD with progressive scan output(yes I changed the settings...
I have read alot about making adjustments on this unit thru the service menu but can't nail down on how to "sharpen " the picture. I can live with the slight color irregularities... but the picture is driving me NUTS! I can't believe the picture can't get better than this on DVD or HD cable. Am...
Will me used strictly for movies. I don't know much about projectors or screens, just got my first RPTV and am really disappointed. Would rathe watch every day TV on old television and watch movies on screen and projector. I actually have a pretty good set-up I think for this application...
I'm sorry to dis-appoint you guys.... I'm an employee at Circuit City. I got it at cost $1890 to be exact. I'm asking advice here because as most of you know, CC sale counselors are morons.... (I'm not in sales ;o) )
I just brought home the Hitachi 57SWX20B. After much deliberation between it and the Sony KP57WV600, I decided on the Hitachi. I got it for just under $2K. Was this a wise choice?
Ahsa. Hard to drive... well yes I suppose... 4ohm loads... but a good amp should have no problem... Muddy bass? The only time this may occur is if the are trying to produce exaggerated bass ( bass knob jacked up) and we all know that is a no no....
Ashan.. While the LSIa15's are not "bass monsters", they do have very nice tight base... but is very dependent on set-up. I do have a sub with mine, but often times when listening to music, i turn it off and just use the 15's. I think you will find that when set up properly, in an adequate room...
I don't see a need to do this. I have the LSi15's for mains, 3 (yes 3) LSi7's for surrounds, and the LSic for center. It is all a perfect match. The LSiC is made to be the perfect center channel for these speakers. I love my LSi set-up and would highly reccommend an audition... if you can find a...
I am looking in to building a set of speakers for my disabled brother. He listens to music about 10 hours a day and was a concert pianist/organist many years back. He is very critical on piano music played back thru most speakers. Is there a speaker design out there that could address this? He...
Will the Shiva work as well mounted vertically as it does horizontal? I would prever to mount it facing forward and the port firing down on to a base plate mounted 2-4" below. Should this be a problem? Have abou 92culiters, using PE 250w amp in a 16 x 17 room with vaulted ceilings to about 14'...
WEll I powered up my new set-up (Shiva in 107 liter cabinet vented with 4"flared portfull length powered by PE 250watt amp) last nite. It sounds pretty good with the little I've played it and not really tweaking. My problem is that at somewhat high volumes the sub "pops". I don't think it's a...
