CRT gives a better picture, between deeper blacks and deeper/more vibrant colors. I have the 507 next to the pioneer elite 530 (recently price dropped to 3500, all theirs dropped $1000), and the elite does look better all around for straight on viewing. Yet, if off angle in height a bit and a...
One thing to always be careful of with the Elites though. . .4 ohm speaker loads and any Elite receivers do not play well together, be careful of that. They make good stuff, but that is a big problem that they have.
I know for a fact that you can biamp the fronts in both cases. . . the 45 gives you the microphone thing MCACC, which is really good, also gives you onscreen controls, which the 43 doesnt. Plus, I'm pretty sure you can use the rear surrounds also in a multisource case, in other words second...
I've been to a training and seen that beast . . .but they didnt have it hooked up, so cant verify for sound. I have heard the 125x7 Amp, might get that for myself, it sounds really good. . . Adcom is back.
General estimates for the Fujitsu 50", being a market mainstay that has been out there for a long time and is very well reviewed . . . estimations are between 6g and 7g for a 50" of that quality.
I hate the friggin 40XBR700. . . it is evil. We have a demo piece at our store, which for one reason or another it has been moved 4 or 5 times . . . even moving on flat surfaces, it is evil. And when you put 1080i HD into it with words on it, ooh the blurring is beautiful. We all despise it and...
I've seen em both, sold em both. . . I like the Samsung a lot more. It has better black levels, a little bit better colors. . . plus it's a lot smaller in size than the Wega. Wega has better speakers, but who uses the speakers in the television? Samsung also has better wide angle viewing. ...
There will likely NEVER be a tube wider than a 38", which you would know if you've ever seen HD on the Sony 40" or ever moved a 40" Sony. . . they become too heavy, too unwieldy, and tubes just don't work at that size. The price necessary in shipping and moving a television that is that large...
Yes John, that actually is a problem that I know of, we had a demo unit that we sold off to fill an order, someone hooked it up to HD sat, and HDNet wasnt good. . . so yes, that is a problem. I believe they have fixed it, so be careful on the age of the unit you buy.
I'm planning on upgrading my system, I used to work at a retail chain similar to Circuit City (The Wiz in NJ), now I'm working at a high-end store. My system is now a Denon AVR2802, Denon DVD player, Denon 370 CD changer, Polk RT800i towers, Polk CS245i center, Polk FX500i rears, Polk bookshelf...
I'm a salesman of both televisions (Loewe ACO9303 and Pan CT34WX52), and as a result get a very good price on both. As of right now, I'm 9 feet away from the television, using it primarily for DVD, Playstation 2, and standard cable, soon upgrading to HD digital cable. I'm going back and forth...
I have to go with Chapter 2 of Dinosaur, that is one of my standard demo discs. There is a 2, 2:30 selection that has some tight bass, good surrounds, amazing video, etc. . . everyone can appreciate it.
Thank you guys, I'm going to get some DVDs for us tomorrow, I just haven't been able to find many 1:85s that would be good. I do explain that there are still some DVDs that will have black bars, but having to distort and stretch a great looking movie like Goldmember, Episode 2, or LOTR is never...
Soooo. . .anybody know of any? All I have is Dinosaur, Chicken Run, Monsters Inc . . .all animated, not good. Resident Evil. . .too violent, too dark. Waterworld? Really bad movie. . .
There is a big difference between the two. . .the smaller one has 1 tweeter arrays, the larger one has 3. That $1200 upgrade is the biggest you can make in all of Martin Logan . . .I've heard the big one on dedicated home theatre system room (Prodigys in front, and Scripts to fill out 7.1) . ...
I need to find some good DVDs that are in a native 16x9 ratio (1.85:1) for demos on floor systems. At the moment, we only have Spiderman and Monsters Inc, everything else (Star Wars, Harry Potter, Driven, etc) are all in 2.35:1. To avoid the black bars burning into plasmas (and even more...
