Why do receivers allow you to go into the - numbers for LFE setting? I had mine set -10 because I thought my sub was going to blow...too much bass or maybe I'm just paranoid that it can't take it...12' by 11' by 8' foot room and my sub is a Mirage BPS-400.
My Yamaha has settings from -20 to 0 and the default is 0...if you put it down to -10 then the lfe would be level with all the other channels...so if you calibrated all the channels would hit 105, setting it to 0 on your LFE setting on your receiver it then would hit 115, That's the way I see it...
John Garcia is correct but I think your asking about the LFE setting which is different than the subwoofer setting. http://www.ultimateavmag.com/howto/805bass/index1.html from the link above: "3. The LFE channel is NOT a "subwoofer channel." The LFE signal should be thought of as a...
Yeah the powerbar is also a usb hub....1 input (usb)....4 outputs (usb). not sure where you would get it in the U.S. though. thesourcecc.com is like the canadian version of radio shack.....or at least they used to be called radio shack up to 2004 ish? not sure why the name change?
you could get one of these....and put it on top of your receiver...very easy. http://www.vantecusa.com/p_lpc401.html and use one of these to power it. http://www.thesourcecc.com/estore/Pr...roduct=6118350 I am using 2 of these myself. You could even put one on top and one under...
the new Paradigm Servo-15 v2. I am looking for super clean output that extends below 20hz at high volume. I live in Canada and the servo is about 2400 and the ultra is around 1600? a guess. Thanks And if I were going to upgrade receiver ... which of these Yamaha 2500 , Denon 2805, Nad...
Looking to upgrade from Yamaha 795a to either a Yamaha 1400/1500 or Denon 2805. My speakers are PSB 5T's 2B's and 9C and Mirage BPS-400 Sub. I am leaning to the denon... Thanks.
I have the Mirage BPS-400 and a Yamaha 795a receiver. A cable going out of the Yamaha sub out into the "LFX" input of the sub which by-passes the controls volume and low pass filter on the back of the sub. Mirage told me that it is the best way to run it. Hope this helps.
The thing for me is that I am going from the sub out of the receiver to the "LFX" input on the sub. Which bypasses the crossover and volume controls. Are any of you saying that I should really use the left/right inputs? Thanks.
Which would be better to upgrade first/make the most difference. From Yamaha RX-V795a to Denon 2805 or Yamaha 1400 OR Mirage BPS-400 to a Paradigm Servo 15 version 2. Thanks.
Thanks everyone. It sounds much better out from the corner. I also changed the subout on the receiver from -20 to -12. All speakers have always been set to small and yes to Sub. DD LFE is set to -8 (-20/0) and DTS LFE is +2 (-10/+10) I'll see about setting up using DVE and see if it...
The way I have it set up is from the "Sub Out" of the receiver into the "LFX" input of the sub which by-passes both the volume and the cross-over of the sub. I moved it out from the front right corner where the L/C/R speakers/tv are located, to about half-way along the right side wall. More...
Is this statement true? Can you have too much sub for a given room size. I have a Mirage BPS-400 in a 12L*11W*8H. For a sealed sub it can sound boomy at times. Thanks.
I just got a new Mirage BPS-400 "this thing is HUGE" to replace my Velodyne CT120 in a Small room 12/14. The Question is when I use the LFX input on the Mirage it sounds great but.... no control over volume or crossover. But when I use a Y cable for the left and right inputs I must turn the...
Upgrading from a Velodyne CT-120 to one of these. Want the one that would work best in a small room and used mostly for movies 70/30 than for music. Thanks.
