I have a new Samsung sir-ts160 direct tv, high der reciever. It has the option of video output of 720p or 1080i, if I get the DLP to which eccepts 720p should I use that setting? Is the the resolution the same through the 720p as 1080? Any advise. Carl.
Thanks David, I would love to see the results from the tv. Would the ISF results be the same on another set. I mean, will the red cut, and blue drv etc, be the same on every set in the same series? CRT, all sets are different, but because DLP is digital so I can imagine that there should be...
IM thinking about getting the new Samsung DLP, 43 inch hln series soon to be released. Can anybody inform me how isf calibration will be done on dlp? 1. do you have to refocus dlp? like crt. 2. is there any new geometry problems or is that a thing of the past? 3. Does it still need color...
I was lord of the rings, star wars and some high definition material. The dvd movies looked exellent and high def stuff looked even better. The whites looked perfect and the blacks didn't look to have a problem. They reviewed in this months home theater magazine and the calibration test were...
You should take a look at Samsungs DLP hlm seies, theres a 61 inch model you should take a look at, looks very impressive. DVD player = I think you should take a look at Denons new 2900, I think that you will be more than happy with this dvd player, out in may.
I'm also looking at the Samsung DLP, but I'm going for the 43 inch model. Theres a new hln series coming out in replacement of the hlm series, with many improvements. I seen the 60 inch model the other day and it looks impressive. I have a Toshiba 42h81 and the one major problem with the tv is...
I looked at the video quality and Im sorry there's artifacts all over the disc. Just like star wars 2 they can't convert digital film to dvd. Garbage. good colors but articats. terrible.
Im waiting for the Denon 2900 because the 3800's video is so good. It basically has perfect progressive de-interlacing, and the resolution is amazingly high. The higher resolution your dvd's the better it will peform. Normally I find the higher resolution you go the harder the dvd player finds...
Yeah Casper on DTS laser disc was amazing. The dvd just wouldn't sound like that. Something needs to be done about dvd, and low bit rates because its killing the people who care about home theater.
I remeber the days of Jurassic park on laser disc, now my experience of this disc will probably never be matched. The sound is so broad and full. Same with jurassic park 2 when the two T-rex's attack at night, open, broad, full, and when they fall down the ridge with the glass breaking, is DTS...
I own a toshiba 42h81 and I cant Input a new pin code on the locks menu. I want to lock up the front panel completley so nobody can push buttons on the front without knowing what they are. I enter the blocking reset number but I still get to the settings I need. I advice from people who know...
Im also after a universal player. I want sacd and dvd audio also, but I want a good picture with dvd video so choosing a player will be tough. Ive seen the Marantz and onkyo players and they sound exellent but the progressive output for the picture isn't as good as the denons. The new Denon...
Im sorry dvd has been out for what 5 years and we are still dealing with chroma bugs. Does anybody else think that this is disgraceful? Check Denons new chroma free players, 9000 and 3800, and the new 2900. chroma free and great players, do yourself a fovour and get one.
so what is better quality? progressive or interlaced? could I keep the denon on the interlaced mode, and use progressive on a tv perhaps. Not that I have a tv that can do this, but Im think of getting a samsung dlp tv that has farouja processing. do you think that I could get some results...
Im sorry, yeah I just found out that dead or alive 3 is 480p. I always thought that it was hdtv quality. It does look amazing though and so does the beach volly ball game. So whaty does dragons lair look like in high def? Well this proves that im not always right I am sorry. Carl.
Phil Nichols, do you know what chroma 4;2;0 icp is? because the denon player fails on this. though the denon has the best progressive test results ever and is an amazing player. whats this icp?
im want for the 2900 player from denon. has sacd and dvd audio, 12bit video, 108 mhz. great stuff. does the 9000 clear up all artifacting problems or do you still see them?
The new Denon DVD player has a 14bit video chip, can anybody tell me how good this player is? Ive heard it's absolutely amazing, and with the chroma but fixed in the new players makes it even better. Is this player as good as people make out? respond please. Carl.
I had that Panasonic player also. It's terrible for the layer change, but the picture so good. I didn't know you could upgrade it, is this true? How do you upgrade?
