Thanks for the suggestion on the Denon 1910. It looks like it's going to be out the first week of September, so hopefully some reviews will start popping up soon. If it's as good as it looks on paper, I'll be all set.
I'm trying to find a DVD player within a reasonable price range that has these features: -prog scan -has no trouble with dvd-r -optical out and dts -pal support would be nice -great picture So far, it looks like the Harmon Kardon DVD22 is a good choice. Anyone know how the picture...
Thanks for the reply. I actually just tried out the N50BK model, but I'm gonna have to take it back tomorrow. In some DVDs where there's a panning shot it will stutter. I've tried changing the video mode, but it's pretty inconsistent. I'll just spend the extra money and go with the Sony...
I currently have a Panasonic-RP62 hooked up to a Panny 47" and even though it says it supports dvd-r, I can't get any to work. So I've been using my PS2 to play them and I realized today that it just wasn't going to cut it. Is there a player I could get in the $100-$200 range that will give...
I live in a one-bedroom apartment as well. Here's my setup: http://home.comcast.net/~schang528/dvdht.htm Notice anything about the tables my equipment is sitting on? :D I have five of them... Crappy tables provided by the apt complex.
Well, this is going to a 47" Panasonic HDTV. I went ahead and bought the GE cables, but can always return them. Honestly, I can't tell the difference when my PS2 and Cube are plugged directly into the tv and when they're going through this cable. The only thing I don't like about them is...
This is going to be going from an a/v switchbox for my game consoles to the tv. GE component cables - $15 THX cables - $30 Are the GE ones supposed to be really crappy or is paying twice as much not going to be worth it? Thanks. :)
Wow! That is very, very cool. I might have to consider this over the MX500. I just watched the tutorial and it seems like it's very easy to use. Hmmm...hard to decide.
Thanks for the info guys. The box is from Comcast...I'll have to wait until I get to my apt until I can see which brand. Looks like I'm buying it. :) Now if only it could make dinner for me... EDIT: By the way, does anyone know the best place to buy this?
If I'm going drop $100 on this remote, I just want to make sure it will do everything. So those big cable boxes that cable companies give you...does anyone know if this will work on them? Thx.
I have a Panasonic 47wx42 and my overscan on the bottom seems to keep creeping up. Do I just go to course convergence and try to center the box? Any tips? Thanks, Chris
Yeah, I know. I also read the sticky thread at the top, but that mostly addressed grey and black bars on the sides of the screen. I'm just asking because since I got my tv, I've been trying to avoid most broadcast tv - channels with static logos, etc. And, of course, when you watch the Super...
2.35:1 movies like LotR still leave small black bars on a widescreen tv, which is 16x9. Movies that are 1.85:1, like Spider-man, will fill the whole screen. Check the faq at the top. I'm sure it's in there.
Bah, I called the ONLY tech that will come out to my area and he doesn't do screen cleanings. I cancelled the replacement tv from BB a couple days ago, but it looks like I'm going to have to re-order it. And I tweaked this one so nicely... :frowning:
It's really a slight bend, not a curl, but it's very noticeable. I noticed it a lot while I was watching Signs today and, being a perfectionist, it really pisses me off. I don't know what you mean by "horizontal" focus. Doing MFocus improved the picture a lot more than EFocus. I used the grid...
Well, I cancelled the tv. But anyway, the area it happens is too large to push off screen (it's noticable 3" from the top), so I guess I'm just stuck with it. That kind of sucks. At least it's not noticable with 2.35:1 movies. I am planning on getting it calibrated sometime during the middle...
There's this weird geometry problem all along the top of the screen on my Panasonic 47wx42. Straight vertical lines will curve slightly, but with anything else it's not noticable. You also can't see it in the service menu convergence grids, so I can't really fix it. I have a new tv being...
Thanks for the advice on the contrast setting. I found that 21 was the best setting. For brightness, however, I couldn't even see the black bars. I know you said not to use them, but I don't know how to use the half-grey pattern. What do I look for?
