Let's not get bogged down in semantics: you know what I meant by "control." I'm fairly certain, considering I've been in the biz for over 6 years (god how I hate saying that sort of thing), that you know precisely what I meant--you want to keep splitting hairs in an effort to display your...
Fact: Sony bought control of Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness (i.e. "Sony bought control of the new Tomb Raider..."). Fact: Nintendo bought control of Resident Evil (obviously up to RE4 and not including RE Online). Word to the misinformed: how's that 40 million dollar budget for Hitman 3...
Speaking of Lucas, I just picked up Grim Fandango the other day for the first time (hey, I don't have time to play everything when it's new) and now it has me pining for the grand ol' days of the SCUMM interface, *sob*.
Well, keep in mind that companies pay to lock up franchises and titles: *Sony bought control of the new Tomb Raider as well as the GTA franchise (among many, many others over the years). *Nintendo bought control of the RE titles. *MS paid for limited exclusivity on Splinter Cell...
That's my point, Josh: I think a lot of people would be very quickly turned off by the ridiculous nonsense that's possible in the game. Once everyone figured out some of hte inifinites (and thanks to Internet message boards and GameFAQs it wouldn't take long), the game would be virtually...
They're not shafting me? Of course they're not: I have all three consoles. One more time: I am stating that if anyone has the right to complain about lack of Konami titles, it's Cube owners who get a steady diet of Disney Sports titles. Personally, it doesn't make any difference to...
If all you intend to do is play within your circle of friends online, I agree. Otherwise, there is nothing "subjective" about my comments: at a slightly better than average level of play, MVC2 degenerates into a spam-fest with infinite combos, glitches, etc--anybody that walks into that game and...
I concur with Brian's comments: regardless of what he may or may not have said, it's all about $$$, not about 'shafting' certain console owners. Besides, if anyone has a right to bitch about being 'shafted' by Konami, it's GameCube-only owners.
I dunno how much you guys have played that game, but as a competition piece, it's utterly worthless. Large numbers of characters have infinite combos and loads of lovely glitches that will have you pulling your hair out in no time. It's better off not being on Xbox Live.
It's going to be something like Pandemonium from what I've been told, i.e. everything is 3D but the gameplay is locked into 2D on twisting and turning paths (a step beyond Contra SS). The game will not be traditional 2D, sadly.
I have played it extensively (I didn't have much choice when the import DC came out) and I thought it was OK. I'm surprised that you're managing to have fun with it at this late date, though :) Have you ever played the sequel?
I own it and it's awful. Rent it if you must, but do not buy it. If you need more details, I will provide them (though I'm loathe to actually play the game again).
Following the latest showing of "The New King of Racing Games", this is the best news to come along in a long while. Too bad it's not going to be a straight 2D, side-scrolling affair (graphically, that is) but I guess you can't have it all.
Oh for the love of God...I'm sorry for the over-the-top display of hyperbole. Silly me getting excited about a game--I'll be sure to tone it down in the future
