It would be foolish in my opinion for Sony to include SACD with all Blu-ray players when such a small percentage of the market needs SACD. Sony doesn't own all of the licensing revenue for SACD, it is shared with Philips and others and any incremental cost would be material to the profit margin...
I think the UBP-X700 is probably a nice player but I don't have any first hand knowledge. I don't know how much extra it would have cost to add DVD-A and Bluetooth but I assume Sony wanted a less expensive player to compete with LG, Samsung and others. What I do know is that DVD-A is a tiny...
Sony has had two models with UHD and DVD-A support, the UBP-X800 and UBP-X1000ES, I have both. I did see an announcement that Sony will release the UBP-X800M2, not sure that will actually happen but it may, biggest difference is it adds Dolby Vision support if it does happen...
I have had the DVD-As for maybe a decade, not sure why I bought the SACDs but I will worry about that later. The sound quality is good, Universal stopped Krall surround releases some time ago unfortunately. A couple of her DVD-V concert discs are great also, Diana Krall - Live in Paris, and...
The last several months I have been on a buying spree, first in many years. All quad or surround sound high resolution, various formats.
Chicago - Quadio Box
Blu-ray Audio
The Beatles - 1
Blu-ray Audio
Diana Krall - When I Look in Your Eyes
Stereo/Multi SACD
Diana Krall - The Look of Love...
I believe the Hot Springs FYE is still open, about 50 miles from me. I often stopped there when I was in Hot Springs for something else, great store in my opinion. As far as prices, not much different than Hastings or Best Buy on new releases and there was always a good selection of used CDs...
I have Logitech wireless keyboards all over the house. For use with a single Windows 10 PC, I am using a Logitech K350. It is a 2.4GHz RF Unifying Receiver keyboard. A Unifying Receiver mouse is used along with it, 6 devices can be paired with one receiver...
The den is almost ready for a Dolby Atmos setup, I have ceiling speakers which I have not installed and I don't have an AVR yet, everything else is ready. The highlight for me will be 4K Blu-ray playback if I can put this together.
I would like to upgrade to HDMI 2.0 and Dolby Atmos soon to be ready for a 4K display in the near future. My limited experience with Onkyo has always been positive and this looks like a great AVR. I do have some ceiling speakers I picked up and have never installed, I need to figure out how to...
I entered, thanks for the chance at a great prize. Like hundreds of millions of other people I like and use Facebook. Around half of my 1970 high school graduating class uses Facebook and without it, I wouldn't be able to keep up with most of those people.
It seems weird to me that people...
Better than what? Your link is to open listings, asking prices, hardly better than closed listings. Here is a listing with the first four sold at $103.

The first 4 sets are still fairly easy to find as far as I know, maybe around $25 to $30 each, here is a sale with all 5 sets for $225 which indicates a likely value for 5 at around $125...
This is a rudimentary DVR, nothing like TiVo. I would pay a small premium and purchase a new TiVo with lifetime or buy a used TiVo Premiere with lifetime which can be purchased for less money than this DVR, either way you have a reliable, polished DVR. I would continue to forget about Channel...
Funny thread but this is the wrong forum for this topic, this is the classifieds section for movies on physical media. Why not just delete this thread and let the OP start another thread in the proper section?
I have more movies and TV shows on disc and DVRs than I can watch this lifetime if I live to be 100. I am finding new TV shows and movies I like enough to watch before I watch something I already have but if nothing new is created after today, I will still be happy with what I have to watch...
When? I will be close to a Dollar Tree tomorrow and would stop to check if I knew some could be available. I purchased about a dozen a year or two ago when Dollar Tree had an assortment. I think I purchased all titles available but a couple at the store I went to.
I have a Roku LT and Roku 2 XS connected and three different Google TV boxes connected but no Apple TV. I much prefer Google TV to either of the others, it does much more and includes a web browser. Roku did just add a WatchESPN channel so I am using Roku more than I had, I like that channel...
I have a Roku LT connected to an RX-V471, I see Dolby Digital+ lit up with Vudu so the devices definitely can bit stream for AVR decoding. I am not using it with Netflix or Amazon but can and will check those services as well. I also have a Roku 2 XS in another room and can check it. You must...
I have this DVD-A but I don't recall playing the DTS audio. I seem to recall that the high resolution stereo doesnt play at all so I think this release was at least originally mistakenly passed through quality control. I also recall it was fixed and re-released. I will check DTS from the...
