Yow, with a setup like that I guess you'd know. Very nice! So I guess what you're saying is that the video benefits that HDMI 1.3 enables aren't supported on any displays at this point anyway yes? Thanks again for all your help all...
Thanks Dave, I assume they are fairly easy to setup and tweak (real calibration aside)? Are there any sets out there with HDMI 1.3 already? I've been seeing conflicting information. Thanks again. Mick
When I got my last set, it was between Hitachi (which I got) and Toshiba if I recall. I haven't been paying much attention lately because I wasn't shopping, but will be in the market soon after sets with HDMI 1.3 start coming. I'm looking for reasonable price, great quality, lots of inputs...
I too am looking at upgrading my display from my old 1080i Hitachi to something a little more up to date. Do we know when the HDMI 1.3 systems are coming and who will be offering them? Mick
I have the Hitachi as well, and the manual convergence seems pretty easy. just move the 'cross hair' to the different grid points on the screen and move around to adjust. And, if you mess it up you can just redo it with the auto mode (or even reset/cancel right from the menu). Mick
Greetings! I've got two questions on the aforementioned players; 1) My wife had a Sony DVP 650P when we got married, and we just moved and when i went to put it in the rack I was surprised to see that it had component outputs. I'm wondering if this player does progressive scan or no? (If...
I finally got out to CC and checked out the 57UWX20B. I was unimpressed. It looked blurry compared to the other models around it, and the black level was not as good (although I managed to adjust taht and get some improvement). This included the next up Hitachi that was next to it (the 51 inch...
It looks like the Philips is out of the running at this point, but I'm hearing some really good comments on the Hitachi. I still have an old Hitachi TV so I know they used to make a solid set, btu that was a LONG time ago. I've also heard a LOT of good stuff from the Toshiba guys, so I'm torn...
I'm looking at the Philip's 60PP9352 or the Toshiba 57H82 and am looking for some input. They seem comparable, but I'm not familiar with the specifics between them. I've read some stuff about a white line during bright scenes on the Toshiba. I also saw that the max resolution is listed in the...
Hey all,
I have a questions on the inputs on the 60PP9352... It's lists it as having 2 sets of component inputs, but on the back it appears to have one set associated with video 1 and then the other set dedicated to the HD side. My questions is, is the video 1 set not a 'high bandwidth' set...
OK. I think I've got it now... I was actualy thinking of the standard vga type port (I thought I had heard they were on some TV's) I know what this one is now, I've got somethign similar on one of my cards. Thanks for clarifying! Mick
Thanks Bob. Yea, I wasn't sure if this shoud go in the 'displays' section again, since it's regarding the output as well... But I figured if I posted in the 'basics' area I at least wouldn't get busted on too bad if I was in the wrong place :) Thanks again.
Mick
Please don't say 'progressive scan inputs' :)
I'm pondering my new monitor options, and considering a new DVD as well. Either way, I want to make sure that the monitor I get will handle the progressive scan inputs from teh DVD. What am I looking for here? Thanks.
Mick
I'm looking at gettign a new monitor for my new home, and this one looks like a good option... Any opinions? Anything else I should consider at the same size/price point? Thanks Much. Mick
I'm planning on purchasing a new wide screen HD ready rear projection TV for my new house. I'm looking through the equipment sites and seeing what I can afford and realizing that I've forgotten what most of the important features are (3d comb filter and such). Can somone point me to a resource...
