I have run that system check and everthing came out ok and I have tweaked with the volume a little bit, I will test some more when I get time. I'm going to try switching between line-in and microphone (But I can't find the pref./option area that allows me to change that :frowning: ) Jeff...

My dad is looking to get a new dvd player so he is able to view VCDs (old sony one right now), and he would like to ditch his 5disc cd player and just have one 5disc DVD/CD/VCD player, any good ones out there that can play most VCDs. My cheap $50 Apex does awesome for every disc I've thrown at...
I purchased the lowest level DTS, 5.1 surround sound reciever Sony makes. I didn't shoot for Sony, I just happened to find this open box at Best Buy a year or so ago for $150, I bought the 4 year warrenty plan Best Buy offers as well. So I got the reciever for $10 less than normal, plus a longer...
I remember finding that site a while back. Like someone said above, it's a great site, but it tends to ruin a movie for me if I look at the mistakes for it fist, then I'm always watching for them. But 3rd+ viewing it's fun to nitpick!
Sony STR-DE485, well not exactly, it is the same as this model, but just the previous one released.

My reciever has been saying Dolby Digital 3/2 when a disc is first put in, did I accidently do something to the settings? I remember it saying something else.
I have one of those 27" Apex TVs from Circuit City (the $200 one), it works great, but when I watch TV every 5 seconds or so it squeeks, it doesn't do this when watching a movie though. Could I possibly fix it by getting some kind of line conditioner or something?
I swear by the $25 KOSS Headphones as Best Buy..Go buy them and try them out, you dont have anything to lose, you can return them easily, and if you like them you'll save tons of money.
Sorry, can't help you, but I went the cheap route myself and I'm very happy with my purchases. It sounds excellent for my bedroom, here is what I went with: Jensen 6 piece speaker set from circuitcity.com I ordered it on Thanksgiving when it was marked down to $75.00, had free shipping as...
Great movie, I didn't want it to end. I loved the scene with gollum in the swampy area. I thought it was well done and gave the film an erie feel to it. The ghosts reminded me of Final Fantasy
I do have to say my favorite part of the 11:59 showing was seeing the Terminator 3 trailer.
I have a 27" Apex TV (the $200 one), and one of the cheap $50 Apex DVD Players (only to hold me over for 27 more days, then I will return it and get a nicer player, Anyway, I have a view DVDs that say widescreen on them (The Lost World Collectors Edition for example.) When I play them they are...
I use a 27" Apex TV I just bought today for $200, and plan on getting a non progressive scan DVD player to play my DVDs (HT isn't my biggest hobby, most of my money goes to my aquariums). Do I still want to get widescreen version DVDs? All it will do is letterbox them right?
There is a $150 Jensen HTiB on circuitcity.com with free shipping, it's gotten really good reviews there. I bought it for $75 on Thanksgiving and it just came in the mail today. I'm hoping to set them up when I get home from work.
I found what I'm going to get. I'm getting these Jensen speakers online for $75 (free shipping), 6 piece, they got good reviews. That way I'll have enough money to buy these speakers, and to also buy a TV tomorrow, I just don't know which TV to get now.
Here are the speakers...
Tomorrow I noticed some cheap home theater set ups and TVs. I can get a 27" TV for $150 (either Apex or Symphonic, or 25" Daewoo). Or a home theater in a box.
At Best Buy, from KLH I can get a 160watt system with DVD player for $160 - $30MIR = $130
