    On a search for a sub $2300 52-57" RPTV

The Philips 55pp9352 is an excellent choice in that price range. Nice, accurate picture, decent stretch for NTSC, and my wife loves the silver case! (doesn't show dust as easily) The protective screen on the set shows glare much less than many of the sets I've tested. Philips has also...

The Pannys are a great value and have many fans. Also check out the Philips 55pp9352. I have seen these sets going for under 2k..(got mine under $1800) Nice detailed picture, red push is low, and Philips is throwing in a basic HT with PS DVD player PLUS 26 weekly movie rentals at BlockBuster...

pioneer sd-533hd5, toshiba 57h81, or phillips 55pp9352? HELP!

Here's the deal...at least in Phoenix, AZ...Fry's Electronics in Phoenix has it on "Manager's Special" for $1799 until 11-26-02. Regularly $2199. Sears will price match plus 10% of the difference. $400 diffence = $40 off $1799 at Sears. So $1799-40 = $1759! Whatta deal! Great set.

Thanx for the quick replies, guys! I figured as much. The salesman kept steering me away from the Pannys toward the Hitachis that were $700 more for the same screen size! From what I understand from reading these boards the Hitachi widescreens are generally a better product...but noone seems to...

Dust in the grooves of an unprotected PT53WX42??

That's exactly what I was wondering! So, in your opinion, the "unprotected" screen grooves can be cleaned easily? I know the question sounds kind of silly...but dust IS a problem in Arizona....

Dust in the grooves of an unprotected PT53WX42??

I was visiting Circuit City the other day...eyeing the PT53WX42, and the salesperson suggested that because we live in Arizona that we get much more dust in our homes. This dust gets in the grooves of the unprotected screen and is very hard to clean. He further suggested that this, over time...
