    tube TV issues

Tom: I have recently seen the problems you described, and I believe the "warping" effect you see on news tickers etc. is called a horizontal linearity problem; this makes sense since the image becomes non-linear as it scrolls horizontally across your screen. I have also heard of a vertical...

How far to put unshielded speakers from TV?

Thanks for the reply... They have been there for over a week now. I moved them further away only yesterday after realizing that I may be causing some permanent damage. But yes, the space is fairly small and so I'm sitting fairly close to the TV (about 3 metres away I guess). Other than...

How far to put unshielded speakers from TV?

I'm trying to setup my 2 front channel speakers, but I am using unshielded speakers and I'm not sure how far I should put them from the TV to avoid any problems. I have them about 1-1.5 ft. from the TV right now, and I don't notice any discolouration or anything; do you think this is sufficient...

    AI Sound always off?

Thanks for the responses everyone! I checked it out again tonight, and apparently AI sound only works with the tuner (which makes sense, as someone pointed out). Thanks again, Leslie

    AI Sound always off?

I hope this is not too much of a newbie question: I noticed that my Panasonic Tau flatscreen 32-SX12 has the 'AI sound' option greyed out in the menu. I'm not sure why this is, since this model _is_ supposed to have it as a feature. I didn't see anything in the manual about this, and I...

Brand new panny too dark? Need input!

So based on the last post, I just wanted to confirm what I think was stated: Setting the contrast to high levels decreses the lifespan of the picture tube. Setting the brightness to high levels has less of an effect on tube life. I would think that the brightness setting would be the...

    Panasonic CT-32SX12

I got my my Panasonic Tau CT-32SX12 today, and everything seems fine with the set. I was really worried that there would be problems, and I am really relieved that there is nothing wrong. I'll post an update if I find any problems.

    Panasonic CT-32SX12

Thanks for the reply Ning... It seems like for every recommend posted about a TV there is also someone who had horrid experiences with it. I just hope that I am lucky and get a good one and not a lemon!

    Panasonic CT-32SX12

I have been reading of an "evil POP" that affects a certain Panasonic model (don't recall offhand, but I believe it was a HD-ready set). Does this problem affect all Panasonic TV's, or is it just something that is a problem with one particular model? Also, I read of some Panasonic TV's having...

    Panasonic CT-32SX12

Does anyone have any opinions on the Panasonic Tau CT-32SX12? Are there any problems with the SX12 line, or any 'gotchas' that I should watch out for? Other than not having the 16:9 enhancement feature, I really like this set.
