What sub do you have? My SVS PB12-Plus/2 sub had one of its drivers go bad during a scene in War of the Worlds. I had a rattling sound at almost any volume. Still on warranty, I was sent a new driver and it works like new again.

I got a new driver from SVS a few weeks ago. I must of had a defective driver because the new one works great! I played WOTW last night for a friend and he was just amazed by the powerful bass.

According to page 37 of the manual, both the 72 and 74 do not auto EQ the subwoofer. You can download the manual at the Pioneer website.
