I earned my black belt in Karate/Kickboxing at Team Roufus after four years of VERY hard training and then trained at Duke Roufus' Muay Thai gym for a few years after that (Duke has some cool training videos up on YouTube if you're interested). After taking an 8 year break, I am now training at...
Did they actually show a quick shot of Jacob? If so, can someone please post a pic? The hard drive in my DVR died this week so I cannot go back and watch it again. Thanks!
Saw it last night - what a disaster (and I wasn't expecting much). I especially didn't like how there was no real end to the Sandman storyline - he simply flew away (presumably to commit more crimes to raise money to save his daughter) with no chase ensuing. Maybe the next people he robs or...
I must have missed something - when Trump fired James he said something to the effect of, "You said a few things during the past 13 weeks which really bothered me. I think you know what I'm talking about." Can someone point to what he's talking to? Thanks :)
Well, this sucks! I've been enjoying my S150 THX system (paired with a MX350 sub) and it feels weird to know that if one (or more) of my speakers becomes damaged I likely won't be able to get it repaired (assuming that the closure of the organization implies that product can no longer be...
My two cents:
As a Blu-Ray player (the primary reason for my purchase), the PS3 looks and sounds great! Also quite pleased that it is HDMI 1.3 for the passing of lossless audio formats (which will matter when I pick up a new receiver which can decode such formats). Up to this point, I can't...
Got my 60GB yesterday at the Sony Playstation store at the Metreon in San Francisco. Apparently they got in a HUGE shipment as there were easily over 100 people in line and everyone got one (mostly 60GB's too). I picked up Resistance and Superman Returns (Blu-Ray) and have LXG (Blu-Ray) or...
I was recently gathering up my Xbox and all its related accessories to trade in at EB Games. After deleting my music and save files from the hard drive, the system suddenly crashed and gave me the "your system requires serivce" screen (and the power ring flashed orange and red, too). My Xbox has...
At first I thought I got a buggy copy, but a friend of mine is running into the same problems. The friendly A.I. popping in and out occurred most often on the chapter where you blow up the silos (don't remember the chapter number). Ah well. I've been told that the multiplayer is good, despite...
I was really looking forward to this game. I'm on the 9th mission (out of a total 14), and here's what I've experienced thus far: 1. My friendly A.I. teammates "pop out and in" of the enviornments and sometimes "airwalk" to objective areas above ground (instead of using stairs). 2. The...
I heard a rumor that Microsoft will be releasing a 100GB hard drive soon. There was also a story on Attack of the Show that Microsoft would be making an announcement (in regards to the 360) right around the same time of the PS3 launch (unrelated to the movie/tv show downloads). Last night I was...
I also read somewhere that Microsoft is considering adding HDMI to the Xbox 360. While the system currently lacks an HDMI output, that doesn't mean they couldn't sell another output cable in the future containing HDMI. The recent inclusion of 1080p (i.e., the fall update) implies that HDMI might...
The power went out in my apartment about a week ago and my (Comcast) internet has not been the same since (but has been working just fine up until that poing). I have limited knowledge of computer technology and was hoping that someone might be able to shed some light on my situation. Here's the...
Got mine in late December 2005 (manufactured in early December 2005). Only problem I've had is a game freezing up once in a very great while (twice overall, I think). I love my 360!
You know, I really liked Halo and Halo 2. However, I've got to admit that I'm far more excited about Gears of War and Call of Duty 3 right now. Even if Halo 3 was coming out in a few weeks, I'd still probably wait to pick it up until I was finished with the other two.
Apparently, there are reports from owners over at avsforum.com stating that banding issues occur with this tv after roughly one month of use. Don't know much more than that, though.
This might be a shot in the dark, but here goes: I was at Best Buy earlier tonight and they had two 42" HP plasma demo units (one dated yesterday and one dated today) which were going for $1,600 (normal price) + an instant $800 gift card. So, it sort of lowers the price for the plasma down to...
I'm thinking about picking one of these up as well (either this or a new Sharp 42" 1080p LCD). What is most attractive to me about the Samsung is the increase in size (46" vs. 42") and the $500 I'd save (sans any cost for replacement lamps/bulbs). I saw this set running a promo for the Lemony...
I saw the 42" and thought it looked great. The review on cnet.com stated that the black levels on these LCD sets are superb. In fact, the only real flaw they found was the the colors seemed to be a little "too blue". I'm actually thinking about picking up this set (42" 1080p for $2,000) instead...
Nice choice. I'd get one myself if space allowed it. I actually saw an open box 55" SXRD (generation 2) at Best Buy tonight for $2,800 + a $1,400 gift card. A pretty good deal, presuming that nothing's wrong with the set.
I agree about the silver bezel on the Panasonic being unattractive. I also like the "shiny black" look of the Samsungs - very much like the Pioneer Elite. While it may sound goofy, that is one of things that attracted me to the Samsung in the first place - it just looks like a classy unit. I...
Arthur - ok, so what about choosing between a 50" Panasonic plasma (the least expensive of the bunch) or the 50" Sony SXRD? I saw the first gen 60" SXRD hooked up to Sony's Blu-Ray player at the Sony store at the Metreon in San Francisco and was blown away! However, the sleek look of plasma is...
Forgive me for asking, but I've been out of the loop for a few years and am a little behind on my technical know how. I understand (in theory) the difference in picture quality between a 720p set and a 1080p set, however, it was my understanding that it can be pretty difficult to tell the...
I saw "The Guardian" this weekend too and enjoyed it as well. However, I thought the ending was terrible. Overall, I'd give it a "B/B-". Also, this movie makes me want to visit Alaska!
I also agree, however, I sometimes think that regular progressive scan looks better than upconverted DVD's. That might depend highly on the player, though.
That would depend highly on the type of monitor you were looking for (e.g., DLP, plasma, etc.) and what your primary use for it was (e.g., movies, games, tv, etc.). Sorry, but that's not an easy question to answer unless we know what your intended use for it is :)
Hi Dean, I'm unsure whether this game will live up to the hype. I say that because there have been so many games which have failed to do so and many games with no hype which turned out to be great. That said, what I have seen certainly looks fantastic! And yes, there will be a special edition...
Yes, you will be fine as long as you don't have any static image on screen (e.g., a racing game's tach, a shooter's ammo or health gauge, etc.) for too long. To determine how long is "too long", read the tv's manual.
