5 years later and hdtv tv's are still messed up!

I bought a mitsubishi 55809 a long time ago, just a monitor, still runs good after fixing the board. I haven't looked for a new one until yesterday, thought a lcd would be nice for the bedroom. Man, can't even find a small one with 720p display. What the heck is 1366x768?? At least they started...

    FS: SVS 20-39 PCI+ (lexington,ky area)or shipped

I am selling my well taken care of svs 20-39 pci+ sub. It's 18 months old. I have the original documentation and port blocker. Original packaging was damaged, so I'll have to factor in new packaging. I wouldn't think it would cost more than 50.00 to ship. 675.00 shipped, 625.00 for pick up. If...

    InFocus 4805 TVAuthority Q&A

I'm really interested in this pj, and knowing that it's not a true hd projector has me somewhat concerned, even with some opinions stating that it still looks good with hd material. Is is that good at the wow factor displaying hd, or should I look for a true hd pj? I know it would be hard to...

Mits 55809 is starting to trip with blue overspill on sides

Hey all, I've had my mitsubishi 55809 for about 3 years now and recently when I've turned it on I'll get excess blue on both sides and the picture and the rest looks off color. It might do this for an undetermined time when I first turn it on, could be 5 mins, could be 30 mins,or it could just...

InFocus Digital Home Projector with 106" Draper Pull Down Screen, good deal????

I wanted to ask your opinions if this would be a good deal. It's at the shopathometv.com website but I'm not sure which infocus model they have. My viewing would be dvd and xbox, but I'm aware that hd would be downcoverted so that would be an issue down the road. A comprimise I guess for their...

    Panasonic PT-L500U Projector vs sp4805

Hey I've been reading reviews on the 4805 and the panasonic ae700 and I'd like a 720p projector but the price is a little too high for the ae700 for me. Someone here posted a link for the l500, which is in my budget and opinions on that model? I will use it for xbox heavily and for dvds. I'm...

I'm about to switch to dish, here's my dilemna about pvr choices

Hey, I've had directv for 3 years. I have the toshiba dst-3000 hd reciever. I want to use a tivo like service. I thought about running a directivo on a seperate input, but, this will cost 10.00 extra a month, and they haven't offered local channles in my area, so I couldn't record ota, and it...

    Just one JBL N24...

James, check ebay, you might find a single. But you could just buy a pair and use it for 7.1 if your reciever supports it. I have an n24 with a broken bracket, so I almost bought a single n24 but it went for about 25.00+shipping, and the bracket through harmonkarden was 21.00 shipped... John

    Karaoke Speaker?

If you bought an xbox, you could get "music mixer" which plays karoake, and you can strip vocals from your mp3's and audio cds that you transferred from your pc. You can download a lot of up to date karoake tracks from xboxkaraoke.com. Music mixer comes with one mic and the disc, but you can...

Speaker types (direct, bipolar) for 7.1 surrounds/rears?

I like direct radiating better for sides, I had dipole but I like to hear the surround speaker, and when I play dvd-audio, it sounded better to me with direct. One thing with my side surrounds that I did is placed them 7 ft high on the walls, 1 foot back of ideal listening position and angled...

How will floor speakers evolve when plasma tv is the norm?

I really like floor standing speakers, and they match up well asthetically with a rptv. So I'm wondering when plasma screens mounted on the wall are the norm, will it look dorky to have floor speakers along the wall? Will everything be mounted next to the tv,(center and mains+shelving for...

Is there a database that lists any rptv's new or old that output 720p natively?

I've read that some panasonic models would show 720p, and some new hdtv's accept 720p, but upconvert it, etc. I'm trying to find a database of hdtv's that do720p natively. I don't know why most wouldn't,(including my mits) seeing that xbox supports 720p games, espn hd is in 720p, and abc? runs...

Can I run this directv/tivo along with my directv-hd box.?

I've seen ads for 99 bucks for a directv/tivo box, and my vcr died so I need something for taping shows. I already have a hdtv directv box, so can I run another directv box on a seperate input? I'd use it for taping and if something decent comes on hd, I can switch over to the hd box. I know...

How can rg6 coxial pipeline hd+dolby digital together...

How can rg6 coaxial pipeline hd+dolby digital together? This is something that perplexes me: I have an outdoor antenna with coax cable running to my external hi-def decoder box, which then connects through component(1080i) to the tv and optical to the a/v reciever for dolby digital. I'm...

    What's Better: 720p or1080i?

I would say 720p looks better to me, especially for sports on tv and xbox games. Unfortunatley most rptv's upscale... John

Which is a "safer" bet: Going the DVD-R/RW route or +R/+RW route?

Since Alf plans to make DVD copies from an analog source (Hi8mm), he would also need a high quality analog video input in his PC to do this. When you add that cost (and the possible installation issues), a standalone deck makes a lot more sense. Add the ability to record TV programs (possibly...

Any current rptv hdtv models that do 720p natively?

I've owned a mitsubishi 55" hdtv for 3 years now, and I'd like to find something that handles 720p natively,(no conversion). I remember panasonic had some at one time. I'd like to see xbox in 720p and some of the networks 720p signal. John

DVD Burner, how to use it?

The best thing about a dvd recorder for me has been transferring our mini dv tapes to dvd. You can also have a massive archive of photos and slideshows. I do recommend investing in the (rw) discs unless you know for sure that the project your working on will turn out right, or you have the need...

    Cyberhome CH-LDV 712 7"portable dvd:my review

I picked up this Cyberhome 7" LCD Portable player yesterday afternoon. Radioshack is carrying them in stores. I paid 349.00, about 25.00 more than you can find on-line, but at least if I don't like it I can return it to a local store. The reason why I'm trying this player is mostly because of...

Cyberhome 7" LCD Portable DVD/CD/MP3 Player with 16:9 Wide Screen

I'm kinda on the fence on this model also. Wish I could find a review on it. Best buy also has a new model by poloroid for 299.00 so I'm going to check it out today. So I've narrowed my choices down to: Toshiba 1200 Cyberhome Poloroid John

My mits55809 just shifted the narrow format to the right?

This is wierd. My mitsubishi 55809 just shifted the picture off center when you put it in narrow format. So the grey bars are wider on the left side. It's the same accross all inputs,(except 1080i of course). I reset the factory convergence so now problems there. Any ideas?? John

I'm having trouble hooking my vcr through hdtv reciever to tape?

I have the toshiba dst-3000 hdtv reciever. So I like to listen through the tv speakers or use the a/v reciever via optical connections. Trouble is, the hdtv reciever only has two rca audio outputs. (one for 480i and one for 1080i). 480i listening is not a problem at all, it's trying to listen to...
