hi, i have a newbie question. dvd-audio uses analog 5.1 connections. so does that mean it will use the DACs from the player? the player im using now is the toshiba SD4800 and im thinkin of upgrading to the denon 1200.
thanks for the suggestions. the adire rava sub looks sweeet. do u guys think a 12inch woofer would be overkill in a 18 X 10 room? and would a low frequency sub be worth buying with my front speakers? i have klipsch sb3, which are 52Hz-20kHz±3dB.
hi, im thinking of upgrading my subwoofer cause my cheap onkyo sub is just too muddy sounding, its annoying. i plan on getting either a velodyne CHT-10 or CHT-8. my basement is real small. its 18 by 10. my fronts are Klipsch SB-3. Im thinking that the CHT-10's might be overkill. im not really...
thanks john u seem to be the 1st person everytime to reply posts. i dunno maybe its cause were related? .. j/k :D well i only have one component input in my tv and my gamecube occupies that spot. my denon receiver has component inputs but its 27mhz, but i dont think it'll matter since my tv...
hi i have the older sony wega model 27" and since my tv doesnt support progressive scan i just used s-video cable. do you guys think i would get a better picture if i used component cables instead? if there's very lil difference then i wont bother with it. by the way i use the toshiba sd4800 dvd...
mmmmm.. guess i confused everyone. here is a more simple question. anyone tried DTS ES matrix or DD EX on a 5.1 speaker set up? any differences they heard compared to regular DTS or DD? im assuming that these people have a 6.1 receiver.
i have a 5.1 speaker set up and i cant really add a center back because my listening position is like 5 inches away from the back wall. i am basically against the wall with my L & R surrounds speakers flush mounted 3 feet up. I was hoping that the DD EX or DTS ES matrix will hopefully provide a...
im afraid i have fallen pray to the upgraditis. my onkyo receiver sounded ok, but it just made my klipsch synergy speakers sound a little too bright. i have read that denon makes warm receivers so im hoping it make a better match with my klipsch monitors. I found the 1803 at pcmall (sells...
The 660 has an updated receiver and its supposed to be better than the ones on the 650. that is the only difference. speakers are the same, except the grills which look much cooler than before. i say get the 660's. the 650 had problems with the LFE signal so id stay away from the old model.
shouldnt be the receiver be in that list too? how would a bad receiver work on accurate speakers vs a good receiver work on non-accurate speakers? do you think that the majority of the people would notice the sound difference?
i bought the HT-S650 package that comes with those speakers. i think their the best bang for the buck. if ur on a budget i suggest u demo them and compare it to the kenwood system. you will hear the difference in quality.
the new reference line is basically an upgrade to the synergy. The prices of the new ref line will cost the same as the synergies that was being sold before. "the RB-75 and RB-35, 6.5-inches for the RB-25, and 5.25-inches for the RB-15. Tentative U.S. MSRPs for these models are $1,200/pr...
hey dont let anyone affect your judgements. Everyone has his or her own tastes. If you are curious of how your receiver will handle the klipsch, why dont you take the speakers home and test it out. you can always return it. Even tho i have the synergy, i will never be able to afford the...
visit www.klipsch.com and click on the newscenter. then click on latest news press release. just scroll down and you will find the info on the new 3rd generation reference models. Sorry i dont think they have new in-walls yet.
oh by the way klipsch will be offering new bookshelf speakers that will carry the reference name. just go on the klipsch website and under the news section u will see that the new monitors will be the same price as the synergies and should sound much better. Since the synergies will be...
Hi i have owned the klipsch SB3 monitors for about 2 months and i think they are a good value for the money. The klipsch sb3 brings the vocals out right in your face. Just pretend being in the front row of a live concert. If you like the forward sound of klipsch then u should really listen to...
Are high current recievers useful at all? I know that denon, onkyo, and marantz make high current receivers but which one is really "true" high current. The only thing i read about is that they create less distortion and they provide more power. Is that true?
anyone listened to these yet? i just got them and it sounds really good compared to my HITB speakers. I put them as my mains. They retail $450 which is kinda pricey. Are these a good value?
thanks for the advice guys. i will save money and i'll go for the S series for my whole HT. I just hate to wait a lil longer but im sure it'll pay off in the end when my HT is completed.
i am currently in the process of building a JBL home theater. I plan to have the S26 as mains and N26 as surrounds. The center will mostly likely be N-Center. I am in a budget so i really can't afford the whole S Series right now. How would these sound with this type of configuration?
i have a question for you guys. Would the fluance speaker sets outperform HITBs? I currently own the onkyo ht-s650. I would really want to know if these the fluance would be a good upgrade. If there is a big difference in sound quality between the two then i might as well buy the towers from...
i searched audioreview.com and i found an interesting review about on the Fluance SM938. "These speakers are AMAZING with home theater! They produce startlingly rich and clear sound even at fairly high decibel levels. They can fill a large room with no effort whatsoever. I'm not going to...
i just did a search on fluance in this forum and there has been a few people who bought the speaker package. They really seemed to like how they performed. I am really considering of buying the 5 speaker package.
