    FLUANCE

You can do it yourself but you need some equipment and probably isn't worth it. The cheapest option is the Radio Shack SPL meter. It is decently accurate(especially the new model) at low frequencies but isn't great above 6 KHz or so. The better option is to buy a measurement microphone...

1st speaker project - was: New Idea For a Small Business, at age 15! (Moved)

Don't waste your money. There should be no reason that you can't place your TV far enough out of the way of the sub. It doesn't need to be a huge distance...just a few feet usually.

1st speaker project - was: New Idea For a Small Business, at age 15! (Moved)

You will want to be careful about doing that. Your TV is a CRT and your sub will not be shielded. Placing it on top could lead to some stray magnetic fields interfering with the electron gun's accuracy(leading to color corruption)

    Problems with HK Receivers

Something seems wrong to me with what your doing or you have a short SOMEWHERE if you have gone through receivers that quickly. I own a 435 and have had no problems.

    IS SVS REALLY GOOD?

Just a correction...the NSD performs identically to last years ISD model. Which makes the 2 B-stock PB10-ISD's for $350 a real steal :)

Receivers which can apply DPLIIx on 6CH Direct Input

ah that would explain it. Thanks for setting me straight. No, I am not running 7.1. Sorry about my confusion

Receivers which can apply DPLIIx on 6CH Direct Input

um, I own a 435, which has most every feature that the 635 has and it can't do PLII on the 6 ch input...looks like you must be mistaken...

RF(coax) input connections on Plasma TV

I always thought that the rf was just a passthrough on the VCR and that the only way to output the rf in was through the rf out...could be mistaken though. Aren't there cable boxes that output other than rf? You would have to ditch the cablecard though. Even if they only output...

    Any HK AVR335 users????

Oh if you check out my posts at AVSforum, They have already done that, it shipped out today, all is wonderful :). Of course, I plan on keeping both! Two remotes = twice the fun ;)

RF(coax) input connections on Plasma TV

I don't think that would work because your VCR doesn't have a ATSC tuner in it only NTSC

    Composite versus Component

There is none. Although the composite may not be built as well or have as large of wire(RG-59 or RG-6)

RF(coax) input connections on Plasma TV

With cablecard you just hook up your incoming cable signal to your TV and throw out the ol' cable box. But it wouldn't give you an extra input.

    Any HK AVR335 users????

I love my new receiver. It has every feature I wanted and did not disappoint. For me, because I lived with a entry level receiver for so long, its the little things that I am enjoying the most. No more guillitine clamps for speaker wire, individual crossovers for each speaker, hell my last...

    Any HK AVR335 users????

Just took a look and its not running. I doubt it will in most cases. That is a REALLY big heatsink. Even though the receiver gets quite hot, the heatsink most likely can handle the heat dissappation on its own. I wouldn't worry

    Any HK AVR335 users????

I have a 435, and I have never HEARD the fan turn on. Thought the 335 didn't have a fan. Must be mistaken.

    Experience with J&R Music World

I ordered a HK 435, the box was in decent shape, a bit "rounded" on the edges, but the box that actually held the 435 was in great shape. The unit has worked perfectly since I have received it. FYI, if the box looked like a hammer had been taken to it I guarantee it was UPS's fault of...

Query regarding H/K AVR 335 Main Remote Controller

Well I opted for the 435, but my remote has Pre. Ch. Below Delay as you mentioned. Don't know what "normal" would do.

    Need some help

I own a HK 435, and you can max it out...I would be impressed. Very few people realized how little power they are normally using...If you got a 435 it would be more than enough power, I can guarantee it.

Pioneer 1015 or HK335 with Klipsch...

I own a AVR 435. I believe the 335 has auto calibration but not auto EQ. This is why I went up to the 435. The 335 is really nice however. It really depends if you think you would use this. IMO the 335 is a bit beefier than the 1015. But the 1015 does have a few more nice features. As stupid...

    DTS Discrete + DLPIIX Question

It uses a matrix decoding method to decern what should be played in each surround back speaker. I believe it is actually somewhat changing each the data each surround speaker receives. So basically. The 6th speakers data is pretty much being split and being sent to both of your surround back...

Ok, I got a question that I wasn't able to answer today. If they buy a HDTV(no monitor) do you need the HDTV receiver from Dish Network? Is this only necessary if its a monitor? Thanks for all your help, I am definitely the customers fav :). I don't dance my way around questions ;)

HDTV PART II: Need a little help with HD programming

Ok those of you who caught my last thread, I appreciate it. The TV's at work are now displaying DISCOVERY HD and the HD receivers are outputting in 1080i. Just a few questions I have to get cleared up so I can answer questions about HD programming. 1. Why do the EDTV plasmas look so...

ok I set it to 1080 with the previously mentioned 6-1-9 combination, worked great! All the TV's now say 1080i. Next question, When a broadcast such as a basketball game or Law and order or something says HD when the program starts how do you get the HD content? For instance today I turned...
