Serge, I think the real issue is that the government can track the purchase so they take their cut. If they had a reliable way to track transactions among individuals within Canada, I bet they'd tax these transactions too!!

The point is I'm not buying from a store. I'm buying from an individual selling a piece of gear. I don't have to pay GST to anyone if I buy something from you, Serge or anybody else.

Just thought of something. Since I'm buying from an individual, can't he simply ship it as a gift so that I can save on taxes, duties etc? We're getting close to Christmas anyway, so maybe I'll ask him to gift-wrap the tuner. :D

Unbelievable! From reading through the manual, it would appear that there's a single crossover that applies to all channels. Denon has come up short on this product. :frowning:

How's the MCACC in the 49TX different from that in the 47TX or 45TX?

Does either the Sony or Pioneer provide bass management for stereo? I can't see the point of crossing over my satellites at 60Hz for multichannel surround but have them take the full bandwidth with no sub out in stereo.

I notice that Pioneer provides an Audio Scaler in the VSX-4x receivers. This feature is supposed to upsample/interpolate digital streams (I assume that includes 16bit/44.1KHz CD streams) to 24bit/96KHz. Has anyone tried this feature? Is there any noticable difference in sound quality when...

Oh Shoot! I didn't realize that the 4ES provides only 96/24 DACs for multichannel mode. I was just beginning to embrace this unit :frowning:. Then again, 96/24 DACs are fine for movie mode. For multichannel music mode, most players have 24/192 DACs and the Sony provides full analog bypass. Ok...

This might be a silly question but...do all of the internal processing options in the STR-DA4ES(bass management, time delay settings etc.) work through the multichannel pre-outs?
