*** Official SAW VI Review Thread

Paul, I thought that at first as well but most of that can be explained away due to the fact that-Jigsaw is not the one building the traps. Overall I was happy with this entry to the series since I found part V to be a bit lack luster. What I do like about these movies is that they do have...

your favorite song that ended a BEATLES album

"A Day In The Life" Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band A nice cap to the album. The whole two songs combined and of course the five pianos playing and holding one chord and the slow burn until the end of an awesome album.

Theater Mix-Up Scars Kids For Life!

My question is what dick-head parent sat in there and watched it with their kids? Ten seconds in and you know it's not the movie you paid for. Take your kids out and get your money back. End of story- no "scarred" kiddies. They're lucky they got free tickets. Then again, I've been known to be an...

    The Grindhouse Movies Appreciation/Discussion Thread

There are a good many websites out there that have a decent selection of movies. Ones I like are http://www.hkflix.com/home.asp if you're looking for any old Shaw Bros. (or any martial arts for that matter) and suprisingly DVD Empire has a Grindhouse section...

    The Grindhouse Movies Appreciation/Discussion Thread

With Grindhouse now in theaters (I loved it by the way) I thought I'd see what some of the HTF members favorite grindhouse movies are and maybe this can be an ongoing thread because I love these types of movies. I'll start off with a few of mine. Dolemite- Rudy Ray Moore stars as Dolemite who...

Onkyo & Meridian to release HD-DVD players in 2007!

It is great but I like this part the best: "Several of the more innovative of the Asian manufacturers such as Alco, Jiangkui/ED Digital, Lite-On, and Shinco will add competitively priced HD DVD products to the market" With value HD DVD players on the market, Joe Blow consumer will more...

The 360 with HDMI and 120GB hard drive...

So I think that the V2 is a good idea but I have to wonder- if you're hooked up with HDMI and you don't have a receiver that accepts audio through HDMI then how would you get audio without the optical out that is currently on the AV input? Kinda sucks to have to buy a new receiver but I guess I...

    Superman Returns

This is somewhat good to hear. I thought I was the only one having this problem. And like everyone else it locks up on chapter 21-22. Is this just happening with the Xbox 360 add on or has anyone had this problem with an A1 or A2? I think I"m going to try and exchange mine today. Just glad I"m...

    Official XBox 360 HD-DVD add-on Review Thread

Microsoft To Bundle "King Kong" w/ Xbox 360 HD-DVD player!

Well, that was the word. But now with the new fall dash update you will be able to see your HD DVDs in 1080p (and yes, over component). After I downloaded the update I decided to see if the TV I usually do most of my gaming on would look like if I set it to 1080p (can't remember the model off...

    Snakes on a Plane (2006)

I totally dug this flick. Fun as hell B-movie ride. If the title makes you want to see the film, then I'll bet you'll like it. Take it for what it is- a B-movie. This has to be as close as I've ever gotten to a grindhouse experience. People were laughing, clapping and every now and then somone...

Official HTF HD Review: Unleashed (Combo HDDVD/DVD) - Recommended

I gotta say I liked this flick- big fan of Jet Li and Woo Ping so...there you have it. I'm glad I put off getting the SD DVD and I will be picking up this one on HD DVD...just as soon as I get my player (the end of the year can't come fast enough). Oh, and glad to hear about the audio. When I...

HD DVD 4th Quarter Article and X Box 360 HD DVD Add On

True, but you kinda know what I mean. There are so many games today where I end up saying "I either just played a bad movie or watched a bad video game."

HD DVD 4th Quarter Article and X Box 360 HD DVD Add On

To watch HD DVDs. All 360 games are in HD now and most games can't fill a DVD-9 so Microsoft decided that DVD would be the best and most cost effective way to go for this generation. And of course there are a lot of people who want an HD DVD player and own an Xbox 360, so why not? I think a...

A different opinion on the launch of Blu-Ray

Just remember Dave, if Blu-ray keeps on with MPEG-2 then the larger disc size means nothing. And if you ask me, I doubt they'll be a ton of VC1 Blu-ray discs out there because with every MPEG-2 disc Sony makes some money, where as VC1 that tiny bit of money will go to Microsoft. I just don't see...

A different opinion on the launch of Blu-Ray

I have to agree with Ryan. Sony is putting all their eggs in the Blu-ray basket and hoping for the best. Not a smart idea IMO. The PS3 with it's huge price tag (for a video game console) is too much for the average PS2 owner today. Most people who got a PS2 back in the day got it because it...

Raiders of the Lost Ark 25th Anniversary

I was just shy of a year out of being born so...sucks for me. But I will get to see Raiders on the big screen for the first time July 21-23 at the Ballantyne Village theater in Charlotte, NC in their retro film fest (followed by Jaws the next weekend). Can't wait to see one of my favorite films...

    South Park Season 10

I watched South Park last night becasue of the whole Family Guy thing. 24 - Season 5 ongoing thread

Yeah, I didn't think so at first but I think Kiefer Sutherland should play Sam Fisher in the upcoming Splinter Cell movie. Back on task- I think that Logan was acting the whole time. How can someone be such a puss one second and the next try to be a hard-ass the next? (usually when involved...

    24 - Season 5 ongoing thread

Sorry David but I have a little correction: "Let's get something strait kid. The only reason you're still conscious is because I don't want to carry you. Now get in the van." "You're going to tell me everything I want to know. The only question is how much you want it to hurt." Little...

Track the Films You Watch (2006)

Well, I crapped out last year, only documenting 15 (what can say I'm really lazy). This year I KNOW I'll do much better because one of the goals I've set for myself this year was to watch over 150 films (hopefully 200+). So here's my list for this year. 2006 Films Bold= First time viewing...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: The Island

Bingo. And that's why I'll be waiting on this one. Great flick though, a lot of fun. And I will also go on record and say (prepares for the flames) I really love Michael Bay flicks (Pearl Harbor, not included). Are they pure popcorn, flashy, action indulgences? Yeah, but why can't that be fun...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: CSI: The Complete Fifth Season

Not at all, in fact this was the episode that got me into CSI. I had seen an episode or two before but this was the first one I'd ever really watched. I fell in love with the characters and the show. I went and picked up seasons one and two and I can't get enough of this show.

HTF REVIEW: Star Wars - Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

I don't know, flickr is screwing with me. Yeah, the image file size get a lot smaller when it gets hosted there (the link didn't work like I wanted it to so I nixed it). Anyways, hope it's good enough for you.

HTF REVIEW: Star Wars - Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Here ya go fellas, a high rez US cover but the file is pretty big (4.82MB) and I barely could host it. It's not perfect but it's as high as I could get it (600 dpi). There is some white around the edges but other than that, it's pretty good (I tried to Photoshop the white out but I would have...

"Undead" Feature & DVD - Worth it?

I really liked "Undead." The way I see it, "Undead" was like Sam Raimi and John Woo went down to Australia and made a zombie flick. This was a very fun movie. It's at least worth a rent.
