Hey all, I recently picked up a pair of cheap Eminence 12" off of ebay and I'm trying to make something work with them. Amp is PE 250 watt plate amp and the driver specs are as follows. *Power handling: 200 watts RMS *VCdia: 2" *L1k: 3.75 mH *Impedance: 8 ohms *Re: 5.20 ohms...
Hey Dan, Will you please email me at [email protected] I tried sending you an email about your SVS original drivers, but it was returned to me saying that there was a failure in the delivery.
Hey Brian, Do you still have any of the 4" flared ports for sale? Are they the full length precision port/adire audio equivalent, or have they been cut down? Thanks Andrew
Sorry about that, Hmmmm, $35 + ground shipping via UPS. Continental US only unless you would prefer to pay the outrageous shipping charges to Hawaii/Alaska. Pictures available upon request
Hello all, I have a Sony Home Theater In a Box 8" 100 watt powered sub for sale. I used it for 2 weeks at most before I swapped it out with my DIY shiva. I knew that I wouldn't have a use for the sub, but I got the HTiB because of the extremely cheap price I was able to get it for through a...
I didn't know that anybody on here knew something about RE. Back when I was still into car audio, I had 2 SE 12"s in my truck. They are some nice subs for dirt cheap. I 'm sure it sounds awesome.
Chris, I'm glad I changed too, it was a weird story. I'm 17, Regional Golf Tournament for my high school, 18th hole my ball ricocheted off a hidden root in the rough, and flew straight into my eye. I finished the round, shot a 80, although I got a 9 on the last par 4. Two stitches later, waking...
Bryant, I will chip in a little word of advice, the driver will bottom out like there is no tomorrow if driven with 250 watts. I use an Orion XTR 12" SVC when im messing with my shiva. My box is tuned to 21hz, but you most likely will bottom out on movies and music if you turn it up high...
So a TV stand is out of the question, Oh well, it was worth asking. After seeing what my brother did with his dorm room and space, I think that a 122L sonosub would not be THAT much of a bother. I know that I'd have to work around it, but i think it's doable. If I went with a sealed shiva...
Ok, right now i have a 142L ported shiva in a box i built for my room. It is great, but too big since in 7 months, I will be couped up in a dorm room (freshman year of college). Right now, I probably have a 50/50 split of home theater/music, but in college it will probably favor the music side...
Ok, let me go through the story first...I made a 5.25 cube box for an old orion car sub to use for home theater. I actually designed the box for a shiva on purpose. (anticipating the death of my Orion sub..haha) When I finished, I realized how big this thing really is, and I'm not going to be...
This may be an extremely good thing then. Is there any answers to the reliability of the PE amp @2 ohms. I have a Resonant Engineering (car audio) sub just sittin in my room waiting to be sold. If I could give it 400 RMS, it would REALLY shine, and I wouldn't have to deal with the constant...
I also would like to know this. I live in Woodbridge, VA, but I'd do just about anything to get rid of my large MDF box for a "different" shape. I looked in the phone book, and there were some construction supply stores in Manassas, I'll have to give them a call sometime because I was running...
Ok, I finally finished painting my enclosure flat black. about time. So when I was putting the sub and amp back in, the problems began. First I mounted the sub, then flipped the box over to put the amp in. I hooked up the sub to the amp, and tested it. It worked great. So i screw the amp into...
I mounted my PE 700-396 on the back of my MDF box. I just cut the 9.5"x9" rectangle, and screwed it into the box. It won't go anywhere, there are 8 screws to hold it in.
Can't answer the port kit question, i just went the Home Depot way, 4" PVC pipe.
The Tempest is a DVC 8 ohm, and you will...
hook this up?
I have this HTIB - http://store.yahoo.com/crazyeddieonl...yhtddw840.html
and I ordered this amp - http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...D=118153&DID=7
Exactly how would I go about hooking this plate amp up to my receiver?
The P.E. amp will be powering an old Orion sub I...
Great, Thanks for the answer. Off to home depot to get the MDF, and should have almost finished box pics by the sunday. That is if I don't get lazy and not finish. Thanks again.
Personally, I think that two 3" ports would look better just as a design, and plus the 3.5" hole saw is cheaper than a 4.5", haha. But is there an actual reason why I should stick with 1 4" as opposed to two 3" ports? I know the two 3" ports will have a tad more port area, but thats about it...
So I'm guessing 20 hz would be good enough? My first home system consists of (not the best, but I'm 17, and I think its pretty good for my age) Sony HWT840 theater in a box, and then im going to add this sub, Sony DVD player, sony VCR, and a sony equalizer. I got the HTIB for $150 from BB with a...
Alright, first, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Andrew, and although I'm only 17, I like to think that I have an excellent knowledge in car audio, but not home audio. Car audio just seems a little pointless to me now, and I want that great movie sound in my room since soon enough I...
