I just got my XBR 40" Wega yesterday and I am still in total awe! This thing is amazing. I also have a 32" Wega (non-HD) that I bought a few years ago and have had no complaints other than the Wega's all seem to be VERY sensitive to magnetic fields(even from shielded speakers). Joe
Infinity told me that the speakers are shielded, but that only helps with the distortion. They said unshielded speakers can distort a picture up to 5 feet away. I am glad you told me that it can cause permanent damage as I did not know that. I am kind of limited as far as placement options, but...
oh yea...I was also reading about the line doubler that is supposed to make non-hd sources look a lot better. Does that mean it is not worth spending the unbelievable amount they want for a tuner that will only let me watch high-def. about 1 hour a night? Joe
I am getting the Sony 40" XBR TV delivered Friday and I can't wait! I was just wondering how other people like theirs. I have had a 32" non-hd Wega for awhile(moving to bedroom:D ) and had a problem with it being very sensitive to the magnetic field from my Infinity IL-40's. I am hoping this new...
I have heard alot about sub calibration, but am not sure how to do this. I have a Velodyne CHT-120 sub. I am very happy with the sound straight out of the box, but is there more I can do to make this sound better? I have a Sony STR-DE1075 6.1 receiver with Infinity Speakers. Any help? joe
I agree that you will hear a big difference with the digital sound, I did. I don't believe for 4-5 DVD's a month I would spend a ton of $, but I think you will see that you get what you pay for generally and I can tell you I have wasted a ton of money starting small and building up. I wish I...
I use a Sony touch screen and they are about $180 I believe. It wasn't that hard to set-up, it is learning so it should be able to be set-up to control anything that has a remote control and it just looks really cool. :) My wife got really mad that with like 7 remotes she couldn't even turn on...
I was checking out the Sony Dream System at C.C. the other day and it seemed like a pretty good deal. It was $429 and it came with a 5 disc DVD changer with built in 500 watt amp, 5 speakers and a sub. Joe
I don't really know the tech. stuff, all I know is I really like how the rear center sounds on my system. I have been a little disapointed with dd ex movies, but the dts es sound great. joe
I just recently went to 6.1 and I really notice a difference on the DTS-ES discs more than the DD-EX ones. My favorites are Rush Hour 2, Jurrasic Park 3(it is not listed on the back, but my receiver recognized it as DTS-ES 6.1), Gladiator, Cast Away, and Terminator 2. I got my receiver (Sony...
I only have a 32" vega due to space, but have a decent H.T. system and I am very happy with it. It is my opinion that big sound really seems to make the picture seem much bigger. I went the component route and have personally never heard a Bose system that sounded near as good for the money...
I have noticed a huge difference in prices of surge protectors with some offering "clean power". Do these high end protectors really make a difference or is this more audio jewelry? I just have a cheap A.R. 7 plug protector, would it be worth getting a better one?
Wow...I am kinda new to HT and have a 32" wega. I always wondered why the 16x9 setting on the tv didn't seemed to work right. I just tried switching the dvd setting and WOW is all I can say. That made a huge difference. I can't believe I missed that. Thanks, Joe
I recently bought a Sony STR-DE1075 receiver so I could get 6.1 channel sound. I am very happy with this receiver except for the fact that when I put in a DD-EX disc I get no sixth channel sound. I get great sound from the DTS-ES discs so I know the speaker works. Does anyone know what i might...
