Armin, how high is your ceiling? I had a similar problem with my back being open to the kitchen. I used Axiom QS2's with Acoustic Research speaker mount/brackets. My ceiling is 8 feet high so the actual speakers are about 7 1/2 feet up, pointed slightly down toward the listening area. Works...
