Polk Monitor 10B's from 1986 :D :D :D :emoji_thumbsup:
They will soon serve as surrounds when I get B&W 604's and matching CC and a Marantz 8300 next spring :D :D :D :D :emoji_thumbsup:
All things being equal, does more wpc result in better or clearer sound at low volumes (i.e., you can still carry on a conversation). In other words, at the same low volume level, will a 120 wpc receiver sound better than say a 80 or 60 wpc receiver.
Plus, according to pictures i have seen, the 8200 is made in Japan, while the 7200 is made in China (as i assume the 7300 will also be) I am in the same stituation, i can pick up the 8200 for $1100 - $1200 or wait for 8300 this spring. Any major reason to wait for the 8300?
That's exactly the same post I was going to make 2 weeks ago but my herniated disc sidelined me for a while. First I was looking to get Paradigm Monitor 7s, then listened to the Paradigm Studio 60s and said WOW I gotta have these.
Then, after listening to the Paradigms, I took a 20 min. ride...

I would be a bit concerned with reported shutdown problems the Pioneer 45 is having. I witnessed it in person last week at a local shop, the 45 was driving Paradigm studio 60's
Thanks for all the responses. Just got of the phone with a B&W dealer and he recommended the Athena ASF-2 at my price point. He said they compare well to the Monitor 7's. Never heard of this line. Are they any good? I have thought about heading into Canada and picking up some studios. I'm...
Thanks Jack. Planning on taking a road trip Sat. to visit Audio Vision. Spoke with Jeff there yesrtday, after I read your post and when I told him i was lookind to spend 2K, he said they could work out a deal. I posted for help from Pittsburgh memebers, so hopefilly a view will respond...
I live in Canfield (Ohio) near Youngtown and there are no Hi-Fi shops. I need recommendations of some good shops in the Pittsburgh area that I can visit some weekend.
Thanks ;)
I have $1,000 to spend on mains and a center. Looking hard at a pair of Paradigm Monitor 7's and a CC370 for $979 plus tax. The receiver will be either a Denon 3803, Pioneer Elite 45TX, or a Marantz SR7300. What other speaker brands should I look at at this price point and that compare to the...
Jack_Geo: Can you recommend any other shops in the Cleveland area. I live in Canfield (near Youngstown) and there are no hi-fi shops to speak off, which basically leaves BB and CC. I have been to Audio Craft in Fairlawn since they are close to where I work (Barberton). Much appreciated.
Matt:
Check out audiocraft.com. They have 3 locations in greater Cleveland and 1 store in Akron. They carry Denon, Sony ES, Pioneer Elite, among others; and Paradigm speakers. Their web site has phone nos. and directions to all stores.
Have Fun :D
Greetings: First post after finding this forum over 2 years ago when I was considering a setup around $2500. Did not pull the trigger due to cost. Two years later, I am ready to pull but at around 1K (for now). Here is what I am considering: Denon AVR-1803 (need phono input for 500+...
