Not watching a movie becuase somebody you might not like is involved with it is such a pathetic excersise of self will. That's like not driving a Saleen Mustang becuase its made by Ford. You might think it's gonna suck, but you'll never know becuase you never gave it a chance. Ode to the...
I would direct my attention at the Projector. As you said, you can scroll through the settings and get it back to normal, but then shortly after it screws up again. If you're following manual recommendations, it shouldn't have anything to do with your settings. P.S. I'm wondering how you can...
You're giving too much credit to the goalies. Just take game two for example, Kiprusoff played amazing, but the guys infront of him didn't. GOALIES (GOALS-SHOTS AGAINST) 1 2 3 T CGY(L) KIPRUSOFF 1-8 0-10 3-13 4-31 (87.1% Save Percentage) T.B(W) KHABIBULIN 0-6 0-9 1-4 1-19 (94.7% Save...
Saul, I agree with Jesse, infact, I think everything about TV movies absolutely ruin the viewing experience. When watching a film, the director wants the viewer to be totally engrossed in it. S/he wants you to be wholly involved, being a part of the film. So once you glance down to the logo...
Ed, when it coems to Home Theater, there is no such thing as over analyzing. :) Even after you get your TV, you will be comparing it to other models, assuring yourself you made the right decision. Once you pop, you just can't stop. :P
I don't think recievers work like that. For that you will need a scaler. You will have to have component cables coming from each source into the reciever, that you want to output via component from the reciever.
I highly disagree with your 10% estimate Rick. I have mini monitors for surrounds, and in movies I hear movie audio coming through them more like 80-90% of the time. Background music especially.
I am a proud Sanyo PLV Z2 owner. Personally, I think it would just be smart to turn it completely off after the weekend, if you are going to rarely use it during the week. As I recall (although I haven't "thouroughly" read through the manual yet) there is no specification of whether or not...
Well, if you are dead set on a 5.1 only reciever, then that will narrow down your choices greatly right there. From there, just pick and choose based on performance and price. If you just get a 7.1 reciever like most are now, and use the 5.1 capabilities (which are probably better than a 5.1...
I have: Monitor 5's CC370 Mini monitors PS1000 Running it is: Sherwood Newcastle R-863T TEAC DV-10D DVD player. Crisp, clear and powerful audio is the result. :D
Seems to me, from what was said in this thread, he did not buy based on sound difference. He bought becuase he found a good deal on the Klipsch. Not my way of purchasing speakers, but to each his own. :)
MingL, Ofcourse, I cannot be certain I know what you fellas are talking about as I haven't seen it on any other system than mine, but I did hear some nice low bass. It was impressive too, in the sense that it was deep bass, but it just didn't have the super-duper effect on me like it seems to...
After watching it twice, once at low levels (late at night) and once at proper viewing levels, I have to say I wasn't as impressed as all of you seem to be. It was good yeah, but I don't think it was at the mind blowing level it is being made out to be. I can't wait for the super-duper...
I own the Paradigm Mini-Monitors, Monitor 5's and the CC370. I LOVE them with a passion no other man hath for his speakers. I highly recommend the monitor series. I have a Sherwood Newcastle R-863T reciever and Teac DV-10d DVD/CD player driving them. The sound that I recieve is so crisp and...
Alright, so I am still trying to setup my system properly. It's all Paradigm. Monitor 5's up front CC370 center Mini Monitors in the rear PS1000 for a woofer. Sherwood Newcastle R-863T Reciever According to my manual, I am to set the fronts to large if they can accurately reproduce...
My home theater setup should finally be finished tomorow. Here's what I will have running: Sherwood Newcastle R-863t Receiver Link Removed Link Removed Link Removed PS1000 subwoofer Sanyo PLV Z2 projector TEAC DV-10D How do you guys think my system will fare in the viewing of...
The tech guys game today with all their testing gear. Within 5 minutes they identified it as a faulty unit. They took it back to the shop, who I am supposed to hear from (although I haven't and it is an hour from closing, time for me to call them). They are supposedly getting another shipment in...
Yeah, I have checked, there were no crossovers. Thing is, I have tried to turn it on with only the power cable plugged in the thing, and it still does the same thing. So I am almost positive it is a defective unit. Unless ofcourse it is supposed to shut off if nothing is connected. At any...
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Strange as it seems, there is no voltage selector on ym reciever. It's pictured in the manual and everything, but it isn't on my machine. I'll quadruple check the wires before I go to bed tonight, praying that there will be some obvious thing i overlooked...
I think I need to return it. >: I've tried disconnecting all the sources and outputs (minus the speakers) and turning it on. It still shut off immediately. However, before I hooked up the speakers I tried turning it on and it shut off immediately as well. I think I am going to give it...
I just received a brand new Sherwood Newcastle R-863, I would really love to give it a listen... The thing is, it won't let me. As soon as I turn the thing on, it shuts off. I have a feeling its a problem with the power input, but really am clueless, nothing in the manual hints to this...
So I can get a DVI-I cable in which both the male and female ends are DVI-I, and it will transmit a signal from a DVI-I(orD) source(fit in the plug-slot) to a DVI-D(orI) source(fit in the plug slot)? I don't have to get some fancy cable with a DVI-I end and a DVI-D end? Basically what I am...
