I have the B&K AVR 507 and it is fine. I might be hearing the so called "whine" if I crank it all the way up without any signal. The issue is way overblown.
Using the B&K software to edit your system, you have the option of setting DYNAMIC RANGE to "reduced". How can you do this from the remote? Is there a toggle on/off somewhere? Thanks.
I'm glad to see people can agree with most of what I have said. I knew the WAF comment was trouble in the begining. Let me see if I can reply to the replies. The WAF - Let's take an example of what I am thinking of. Let's say that I bought the Outlaw 950 but upon showing the wife, she did...
Summing up a year and a half of reading this forum and demoing components, I have come to some conclusions that may help others in their search. ***This is just my opinion. Take it for what you want.*** 1 - This forum has been very useful and I want to say thanks. "Thanks". One thing about...
All I need is a surge protector for a single 20amp ciruit that will not limit current to my amp. No conditioning or other things needed. Does the run of the mill Belkin surge protector do this without limiting current? Thanks.
Currently, the 507 defaults to Prologic w/ 7 speakers for tuner. I want to change the default to something else without using a computer. It appears that I am not saving the config after I change it. Where is the SAVE button or how is this done? Does anyone have some more extensive...
I need a surge protector that will allow 10 amps to flow through unrestricted. I don't know much about this area but appearently providing unrestricted high current can be an issue. Can you explain and/or recommend anything?
Do you, present or past 507 owners(not Ref 50 w/amp), have the so called "whine" sound coming from your receiver? Also, regardless if you have this issue, what speakers do you have connected to it? I'm really close to getting one so I'd like to know if it is going to be a mistake. Thanks.
Okay, this would be easy, just get the Studio 20s. Well I would but can't because of... (insert long story here). Here is what I need. I need to get a small bookshelf speaker from Tweeter that matches the sonic characteristics of the Paradigm Studio speakers. These would be used as rear...
Anyone have experience comparing these two? I would actually use an external amp for the front L/R channels and use the built in amp for the rest. How is the two channel stereo sound?
Thanks for all of the replies. I think I find them reassuring??? (; Tile and grout issues would really cause me a lot of pain. I'm looking at one of the SVS subs that go down to 20hz but if your typical Sci-fi movie sound track does not go that deep very often, maybe the 25hz is a better...
I'm looking for a DVD player with great video for a regular 35' tube tv. Not worryied about DVD-A or SACD at all. Any recommendations for around the $250 mark? Thank you.
Really now, what sort of physical home damage have you had with a sub such as an SVS? I have a Boston Acoustics PW600 sub now that has not caused any problems. Should I expect the same from an SVS? Thanks.
I'm looking for a DVD player with great video for a regular 35' tube tv. Not worryied about DVD-A or SACD at all. Although my HT system will be performing the audio decoding,I would like to have a player that is matches up well with a separates audio system and paradigm studio speakers...
