Hi everyone,
I had an Onkyo PR-SC885 that was water damaged when a pipe burst and I'm now shopping for a replacement pre/pro and 5 channel amp.
My HT is a not-fancy but dedicated room in the basement..the amps were a 5 channel and a 2 channel Rotel, the 5 channel was also damaged...
...an affordable pre/pro with HDMI switching and room correction like AFFORDABLE receivers from Yamaha and Denon... What am I not understanding? I have a Rotel RSP-1066 and I sick of waiting for a replacement that I can afford with the features that I want. I was looking at a Denon 2807...
Has anyone tried the new Samsung DVD players that upconvert to HD? The HD941 seems to have an awful lot of features for the money..$250.00 on E-tronics....
Looking for a single disc DVD with HDMI and ability to play DVD-A and SACD. Only one I have found for a reasonable price so far is the Toshiba SD-5970... Any recommendations...
Looking at the following: RCA Scenium 44" DLP...I always considered RCA to be the bottom of the barrel, but the new Scenium DLP's have been getting some great press. Toshiba 44NMH84 44" DLP...I have always been happy with Toshiba product and I really like the design and quality of their...
Got a reply from Mike Sheehan At Equity Audio... Dear John, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I will investigate the matter further here and see if we can recreate the circumstances you have described and determine what can be done to resolve your problem. Please be patient...
Andrew - I'm using the following: Toshiba SD-4800 DVD/CD/DVD-A (great piece of equipment) Ultralink S-Video Cables JVC 32" Analog Television (I know, I know...I need to upgrade) BUT...like I said before, the problem also manifested itself with very expensive display equipment.... As...
It has happened again...Fifth Element DVD during Chapter 4, 13m23s, there is a massive white on-screen explosion, not dissimilar to the muzzle flash in X-Men. Again, the Rotel causes a distortion that can be removed only when I bypass the Rotel. This is starting to get ridiculous...I cannot live...
I should add that this is particularily frustrating for me because I spent a long time (and a ton of money) on the decision to go with seperates. I expect my 1066 to exceed a comparably priced receiver in all aspects of audio/video performance. Isn't that the whole point of seperates - increased...
I have discovered a very wierd problem with the 1066...EVERYTIME I switch from an audio source to an A/V source (i.e. CD to DVD) a brief, but very annoying colour/distortion is sent from the Rotel and flashes across my monitor. Now I have noticed that while watching the X-men DVD, the same...
From Soundstage! on the C-9:
"The C-9s' bass was solid and extended -- way down deep -- while remaining detailed. It really grabbed me."
http://www.soundstage.com/revequip/energy_c9.htm
I have the following equipment:
Energy C-9's
Rotel RSP 1066
Rotel RMB 1075 with Ultralink 12 gauge...
Does anyone know if a firmware update also allow independent crossovers settings for fronts, center, etc. For example, in a perfect world, I would like to crossover my mains at 60 hz and my sub at 80hz, *then* calibrate and set volume levels. Comments? Suggestions? Would this require a...
It's in and hooked up!
The moment of truth was last night and I could not be happier. Processor and amp performed flawlessly, and I am not looking back about my decision to spend a little extra for seperates.
Daniel - Relax.
I answered a question about where to buy a 1066 and threw in a glowing indorsement of the dealer.
The thread has since returned to amp questions, software version questions, etc.
Also - Your comment was "non-technical" in nature, and is probably leading us further off your...
Trevor,
I bought my entire package from Canadian Sound in Brampton. I know that everyone thinks that "their store" is the best, but I have rarely encountered a more professional group of sales people. They are knowledgeable, friendly and down to earth. They also treat you the same if you...
Kris,
I hope you die a slow and painfull death...just joking. I just found out that I have "at least" another 2 weeks until my RSP-1066 comes in. It has gotten to the point that my dealer is going to loan me a receiver to use until it comes in.
Enjoy the new Rotel.
Regards,
"Bitter...
In the past few months, I've seen the white van parked outside ATM locations. Pretty smart place to be when you think about it....I got approached with the "extras from the warehouse" scam pitch.
Don't want to buy both, which is better (more accurate?) for speaker calibration. I am not so concerned about video settings. Also - Is there a "new" version of Avia or is a disc that is 1 or 2 years old the same as one bought today. Also - What about S&V HTT...good, bad...
Sebastian (and Chris) I'm repeating myself here, but audition a B&W ASW subwoofer. They offer good bass, good quality and reasonable prices. The ASW 650 has a single 12" driver, but it pounds pretty well for $799.00 Regards, John
Funny you should mention that...I was in Canadian Sound in Brampton the other day and they had the Rotel, the Bryston and a Krell in the same rack. I didn't know whether to jerk-off or go blind. :)
Also - If you have never been to American Sound (about 10 minutes north of Brack in Richmond...
