Hi all, I was considering buying a sharp pg m20s dlp projector, however it has a native 4:3 chip. As the screen i plan on getting is going to be a 16:9 screen, (the biggest I can fit) I wonder how it displays stuff. If I play a dvd with 16:9 what does it do? I assume if I choose 16:9 letter...
Hi all, I've heard that logic 7 is one of the best available for '"7.1" decoding. Has anyone compared this to Rotels 7.1 decoding? Any thoughts on either? Cheers Josh
Hi,
Tony, like you said, I suppose I can wait, probably get that FPTV first. Anyway I've got a friend who sells this stuff so I'll just wait till he gets some. Ah well.

Kevin, for the Q about the reciever needing s-video inputs/switching it isn't always necessary. It depends on if you can hook everything up to the telly so it depends on how many sources (which are svideo) you have. Some find you may generally get better pictures hooking up direct to the telly...
Hi, It does depend on the price your looking at but unfortunatly av recievers generally make poor musical performance. (I'm assuming you listen to music in 2 channel stereo). I've heard some good reviews about Marantz and Rotel AVR's being alright in music however and even Harmon-Kardon so give...
I was wondering whether biamping (poor mans passive) would produce better results than using a single amp of the same price. Assuming equal total power. How about with different power per channel? (EG. 2xNAD 270 vs Musical Fidelity's A3CR) I know it will probably depend on each individual...
Have a look at some NAD CDP's. I don't know what the retail price is over in America but they do make some good budget gear, both single and multi CDP's. BTW I know you mentioned getting a multi CDP, generally for the same price point, singles will perform better than multi's.
Try the NAD c541i if you are considering the c521i, I found it worth the extra money as it has a better dac and power supply. Generally for the same price a single player will sound better than a multiplayer since more money can be put on seperate components.
Hello all
If you think you've had a long wait for your rsp 1066, I've been waiting since July and the distributer for rotel in Aus told me that they won't be in till October!! Oh well I suppose I could buy more DVDs.
Anyway I was wondering has anyone tried using two different amps for the 7...
As the previous fellow said, towers for the rears would be fine, especially if you plan on using multichannal music, however some believe that bipoles/dipoles give better surround for movies due to the diffuse sound. It really depends on what you use your system for. Some find towers for the...
In Australia digital television is just starting to come in. I believe it is hd although there was debate whether it sould be hd or a crappier version so I'm not exactly sure. However it isn't broadcast widely just yet so I personally dont have it.
:frowning:
Sorry currently my display is crap but i plan on buying a fptv which most likely will be ntsc and pal compatable, however i have heard that pal prog scan doesn't exist or that most displays won't support it. Is this true, if so it might not be worth looking for prog scan as i live in region pal...
I have a standard dvd player without prog scan, is there another box I can add to the component output of the DVD player to change the signal to progressive scan. (Dont know what an interlacer does but is that it?) Does progressive scan only work for NTSC, why not fo PAL? Thanks for any help...
Is there such a thing as prog scan compatable inputs or are all component inputs prog scan compatable? I'm asking because i'm considering buying a fptv and I was wondering whether i have to look for this in particular? Thanks
I think which (coax or opt) cable is better will in part depend on the quality of the cable. The digital signal is generated as an electrical 1 and 0s. Transmission along the coax cable is essentially unaltered, however for optical the electrical signal has to be converted to light and then back...
I agree with the posts above, the 602's with a sub do better than than the 603's. (midrange/vocals too forward) Definatly go with the LCR 600 centre as the 60 lacks strength. I found the LCR 600 to meshed better with my 602s however they were still a little weak. (could be my crappy reciever) I...
