Now that High-Def is becoming the output of choice... I need to upgrade the receiver in my theater. I can forsee needing the ability to switch between four seperate component signals (HDTV, XBox(360), PS2(3), and HD-DVD/Blue-Ray). I have not seen any receivers (I havn't been looking long)...
Well... I went with a $30 cable from on online retailer, and I hooked it up last night. I kept switching back and forth from component to HDMI... and to be honest with you, I couldn't tell much of a difference. The picture with HDMI was still great but it didn't look that much better than...
My HD box has DVI out, and my TV has HDMI in. I was thinking of getting a DVI/HDMI cable to see how the picture improves... but they want $200+ for a 10 foot cable... yikes! Can anyone tell me difinitively whether or not the picture is "significantly" better? I have heard that it depends...
The one thing I did have to do to get it to run well on my machine was go out and make sure I had all the latest and greatest drivers (Dell, Microsoft, Radeon, DirectX9, etc....)
I wonder if I got a more recent version of the Demo... I cranked up the resolution and details on my PC... and it was quite frankly the best looking game I have ever seen... The foliage looked incredible to me... ... and the framerate was very steady, and no crashes to desktop. I would...
My brother and a couple friends of mine usually host a server most nights... we have a real good time. Send me a friend invite, and I'd be glad to invite you whenever you are on when we play. We usually start playing between 7:00 and 8:00 Eastern. My gamertag is JEFFSNAKE
MikeWh, The chairs only really extend the footrest to about 60 degrees... I guess that could be considered one of the drawbacks, but for me, I don't like my feet all the way up anyway... so it worked out. It also allows you to put the rows of chairs a little closer together. The first time...
The throw distance is right at 16 1/2 feet... and the image is about 105 inches on the diagonal. It barely fits within the screen... it is the smallest image the projector can throw at that distance... any closer and I would have had to mount it from the ceiling.
Thanks to Wal-mart. I was able to replace the couches in my theater with "genuine" leather recliners. I needed 7 chairs... and after pricing them from several different furniture stores, I had given up the hope. But Wal-mart was selling these recliners for $175 a piece. Now, these are...
You put together a great sight... looks fantastic. Are you going to have access to the crawlspace to use it for storage. If so, that's a great idea. Get a shiny, new home theater... and a place to store all the boxes from the equipment you'll have to buy.
No one has mentioned anything about cost... I was thinking of getting a couple machines for my basement... What are the price ranges from something simple (say..Galaga)... to something a little more "complicated"/"newer" (say... Golden Tee)... Are we talking $400... or are we talking $1500?
I don't buy the idea that two local theaters just don't want to show the same movies because they are affraid they will both suffer if they did. I had to watch LOTR Two Towers at my "crappy" local theater because it wasn't showing at the really good theater. I garantee you if the better...
I say let every theater play whatever movie they want... and the good theaters will rise to the top... and the crappy theaters will blow away like chaff...
I have two theaters that are "local" to me. One of them is awesome... it has 24 theaters, the screens are huge, the seats are comfortable, the sound is fantastic... they keep the place clean, safe... it is the best theater I have ever been to. The other one... SUCKS!!!!... it has...
I recently bought a TIVO on an open box special at Best Buy, and it did not come with an instruction manual. I went to TIVO's websight hoping that they would have a PDF I could download, but no luck. Does anyone know of a websight that has a collection of different Audio/Video manuals that...
I thought this demo was a lot of fun... and the animiation on the characters during the gunfight are really impressive. After playing the demo, I though for sure I would pick this game up... But then I saw IGN's review... 7.0 that stinks, apparently the final product has a good number of flaws.
Here is a quote from the Dolby websight... is sounds like you can encode a signal differently to take advantage of PL II. ************************************************** ******** While conventional surround programming is fully compatible with Dolby Surround Pro Logic II decoders...
I really want to add "The Karate Kid" to my collection, but the only versions I have been able to find on DVD are formated 3:4 version... Has anyone seen, or know about a widescreen version?
My brother is looking to purchase a 300 DVD changer. The only two reasonably priced products I know of are the Pioneer and Sony models (both about $500)... He would prefer to buy it from a store (would consider buying it online if it is a LARGE and REPUTABLE company). It doesn't seem like...
I was playing Splinter Cell this weekend... and I played the "Kalinitec Level"... the one where you had to sneak into the office building and steal an encryption disk... It was one of the best designed levels I've ever played in a video game. The graphics, the animations, level design...
