Oh where oh where can the RP82 be?

I'll answer what I can right now: 3. How easy is it to switch back and forth between progressive and regular mode? is it as easy as RP-56? I don't know how the RP-56 does it, but with the RP-82 you have two options: (1) press "Progressive" button on the DVD player itself; or (2) press...

Oh where oh where can the RP82 be?

Thanks for the clarification Mike. I completely agree with you about going for a quality picture over the scaling feature, especially since it is a feature that most TVs can work around with only a minor loss of picture quality. It seems that this thread has focused on the one known weakness of...

Oh where oh where can the RP82 be?

Narrow mode is one of the aspect ratio options on my TV. The TV squeezes the image between two grey bars. It's probably the same thing you are calling squeeze mode.

Oh where oh where can the RP82 be?

First, I think a few people have already confirmed that the RP-82 does not have scaling abilities. On my 16x9 Mitsubishi 55-859 RPTV my options when watching 4:3 non-anamporphic software are as...

    Panasonic RP-82

I only have one non-anamorphic DVD in my collection, but I have not watched it yet on the RP-82. The RP-62 would strech the picture to fit the 16x9 screen, then I would zoom to get rid of the distortion. It looked OK, but not great. I am assuming the RP-82 would do the same thing.
