    Has tv lost its heart?

Almost forgot one current show definitely worth watching: "Mad Men" Very good writing and cast, and very original story line. Tonight is the season 4 finale. Can't wait...

    Has tv lost its heart?

I was frustrated to see shows like Firefly and Jericho get canceled, but I was gratified to see shows like Lost and 24 prosper. I do not like reality-TV, but I understand it arose from cost-cutting. It was simple business math comprised of lower cost of production versus ad revenue received...

No Ordinary Family season 1 thread

Anyone checking this out [edit] next week? How was the preview? Looks pretty interesting...particularly with the two leads from "The Shield" and "Dexter."

The Event - season 1 thread

Well, the F-16 was disabled somehow from responding...so I would guess the limo was in the same lurch...just a guess

Thanks Travis - my thoughts exactly. I couldn't help but be reminded of Sliders.

    The X-Files

I liked season 8 with Patrick, but by season 9 the magic was gone. Jeff, if you are new to the show...seasons 1-6, which have the prime 'alien conspiracy' story arc, are considered the best seasons of the show - some may argue 1-5. Many like the first two seasons in particular.   I liked...

    Mad Men - Season 4

Joan was venting out her fears of hubby going to Viet Nam, and Peggy was at the wrong place and time. Also, you get the sense that Betty might just be starting to grow up by accepting Don to the birthday party. So many great character moments, and that was just two of them. Really outstanding...

    Mad Men - Season 4

Exactly, and Don does not even realize yet he is turning into another Sterling. I wonder when Peggy will get around to running drunk-Don up 10 flights of stairs.

    Mad Men - Season 4

Methinks the fleeting reference last episode to the deteriorating state of the company's finances portends things are going to get worse for Don and co.

    Mad Men - Season 4

One big reason for the eyeballs on this show is the ladies! It's not just the great acting and production, guys.

    Memphis Beat - TNT

Pretty good for a (yet another) police procedural. I like the characters, but I am dreading the appearance of 'formula' police drama plot points beginning to creep in. Not bad - my wife and I have watched every week so far and have not been disappointed yet.

    Mad Men - Season 4

Might as well kick off the new thread... Starting tonight at 10 EST on AMC, begins season 4 of the compelling, emmy-award-winning series, chronicling the life and times of Don Draper and company. I am really looking forward to this season.

    Lost: Season Six

Here is a interesting article on Slate I hope everyone will enjoy as a warm up to the finale: http://www.slate.com/id/2242745/?wpisrc=eDialogentry/2254403/

Meh - I'd give that award to the CGI polar bear in S1

    Lost: Season Six

I recall that when the button was being pushed, basically the island was in a permanent 108 minute time loop. Clearly the drops didn't happen every 108 minutes, but in theory the food drops may have been part of a larger time loop. I am guessing they ended when Desmond blew up the station?

    Lost: Season Six

I am content with what has been explained so far, and I will withhold final judgment until the finale. Having said that... Call me quirky, but I still want to know who built the four-toed statue and why. One frustrating aspect is in "Across the Sea" they (intentionally I think) hide the...

Friday Night Lights - Season 4 - NBC (No DirecTV spoilers)

I loved that whole fight scene with Landry, and then coach yelling at the malcontents to get the hell out. Then there was Tami and the petty coin toss fix. Riggins quitting college. The fight at the pool party. Wow. Quite a season opener. This show is still outstanding - no sign of decline...

    24: Season Eight

...and let's not forget the child molester ("I'm gonna need a saw") right inside CTU. Jack's ruthlessness is no secret to regular viewers, it's just that this time it seemed much worse to me. Maybe it was the way the scene was set up.

    Lost: Season Six

A minor quibble - the sub flooding didn't make much sense. If C4 exploded at the far end of the sub there would still be a huge hole and the thing would fill and sink in less then one minute. I'll give some artistic license, but it kind of bugged me.

    Lost: Season Six

Remember that in "The Constant" Desmond was jumping back and forth through time, and this was before the island skipping caused by the dharma wheel, so who is to say such jumping around could not include the "alternate timeline"?

    Lost: Season Six

Well, there's your Sun and Jin reunion - nice, but the unsettling circumstances put a huge damper on the whole scene for me. Weird how Sun reacted with fear on seeing Locke during the sideways.

    Lost: Season Six

Hmm, no ones cares that, in the alternate timeline, it is not clear why Jin and Sun are not married? Also, I don't recall how Jin knew who Widmore was. Anyone recall?

    Lost: Season Six

There is no clear indication just how ancient the ancients are, how they got there in the first place, or how the island came to be. I would like to know before the series ends.

I am still waiting for the reason for and who built the statue, and when. Not so much how it was destroyed.

    Lost: Season Six

OK, not my favorite episode either, but it's like the X-files for me ---> even the bad episodes are better than anything else on TV.

    Lost: Season Six

Odd seeing Sawyer and Miles being cops on the flash sideways, and I was surprised to see Charlie's loser brother show up at the police station. The car crash at the end caught me off guard, but it was pretty obvious who was running away long before the reveal.

    24: Season Eight

Not much of a blast radius since it is a dirty bomb

Yep, and Jack just now discovered the 'magic' applies to him as well.
