My Harmony 700 is going on 3 years and it's been great. Lasts a long time between charges, has decent enough power to bounce off walls, and controls everything without any fuss.
I don't like that I have to use the computer to make minor changes, but once it's setup, there's nothing really to...

A huge reason I don't use Amazon more is that they separate all the TV seasons out, and the interface (at least on the Roku) doesn't make watching as easy as on Netflix. Is the interface on xbox any better?
Seriously. I loaded up Ratatouille the other day, and it even gave a huge warning about the disc potentially taking MINUTES to load. Well, I think it took about 3 seconds on my PS3!
I'd have to go the other way... I'd take the Axiom's any day over the Klipsch. Even if I was offered either one for free--I *love* the sound of the Axioms.
I got the Wal-Mart Finding Nemo DVD + 'free game' for my wife, and she was playing the 'free game' and she couldn't figure out how to continue after a certain point... well turns out this 'free game' is only a demo - not a complete game. Very lame if you ask me. They should have put on it...
I got mine from Mike at www.surfremote.com -- he's honest, and offers a great price - also $99. I forgot what shipping was, but it arrived really fast, and it was the latest 'edition'. He's also a huge help in the www.remotecentral.com forums - always willing to offer help, and he knows a lot.
Yes, they took my funds immediatly. :) But I used eBay funds, since eBay offers a money-back guarantee for a small fee. Haven't had to take advantage of that yet, but it's a nice option. I think it was around $1.50 or something extra.
Even though they have a below average rating (www.resellerratings.com) I went ahead and placed the order for the 4 disc set. Reading the ratings at resellerratings.com it seems they have good ratings for books. DVD's should be similar, hopefully.
James, I love my knukonceptz cables. Not only do they sound great, but they are beautiful (the twisted pair ones, blue and silver). They are kind of tricky to peel away, but just ask Bill (the guy who runs knukonceptz - very nice guy) and he'll give you pointers. He seems to be available most...
Rob, Keep in mind those Axiom's are quad-pole, and are known to sound killer in almost any configuration. I've moved mine around, and even propped one up on a box, against the wall, and it still sounded great. I have 3 QS8's for 6.1 surround.
But the correction chart for the RS meter shows that it reads less, not more, for those low frequencies. If the meter showed your sub as +5 hot, it was actually a lot hotter than that.
I have an Axiom setup + a SVS 22-31PCi sub, and am *extremely* satisfied! Brings huge smiles to my face. They are not bright or harsh at all with my Onkyo receiver in my room. Got most of them through Marc at Audioshop (except for the M50s), and actually got a better deal through him than...
With speakers set to small with my 45A, I get bass from my sub with all my DVD-A's with the 2 channel mix. I don't have any 4.0's to try yet. Also my bass output is not low. Mine has a little round sticker next to the subwoofer output.
Small all around here, letting the sub handle the low stuff. Have played with setting the fronts as large, which sounds good also, especially for some material.
I challenge my 45A's bass management on a daily basis, and it really delivers. Sounds *excellent* ! Stereo or 5.1, the bass always comes out just right. In fact, I was listening to one of the new SACDs I got for Christmas last night... Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue, and it blew me away! I had...
22-31PCi
Hard to pick an absolute favorite... since the SVS really makes the bass shine in every film! Recently watched & enjoyed the bass in:
Monsters, Inc.
Fight Club
Pitch Black
Titan A.E.
The Iron Giant
Have used parts of The Iron Giant to demo with... using SVS's resource of...
Not here... mine has been performing flawlessly. I would suggest trading it in for another one - sounds like that one has problems. What discs did this happen with? If I have some of the same ones, I'd be glad to test them out.
I buy a lot of my DVDs and CDs from a local store called Manifest Discs & Tapes (www.manifestdisc.com), which has a lot of used stuff.
Amazingly enough, they have very high quality control, and every CD and DVD I've purchased there (dozens) have been scratch free, and look great! Only...
Just wanted to add my 2¢ on Axiom... I own the M50 mains, VP150 center, and QS8 surrounds (and SVS 22-32PCi sub), and am *extremely* happy with their performance. Every night after work, I come home and spend some relaxing time listening to them with a broad range of material, depending on my...
That article is dated 3/02. It is talking about the 47A, not the 47Ai. Also note that the $299 Apex doesn't downconvert. Since the 45A is even newer, and most certainly nicer than the Apex, I doubt the 45A downconverts either.
