Well all shops down here in california are good guys, circuit city etc that sell those receivers I will try to find a smaller audio place that might be able to adjust on prices Good guys is usually largely overpriced and wont even let you listen in store...you have to buy and then return...
HTR series sounded fine to me when listening to it EIther way most denons around here are very expensive I think 300 would be the most I would spend on a unit
I know someone online who is selling the yamaha rx-v795A Its only $200.....sound like a good deal? I was looking at the HTR-5550 or 5560 for a long time But I heard the rx-v are a little bit better Even though its used, do you think its a good deal? Its my first 5 channel/surround...
OK ive gone to good guys and he said they dont give demos and it has a 30 day money back I only have bookshelf speakers and plan to get towers and a sub later Ive been looking at the Onkyo SR500 and Yamaha RX-v530 which seem to be right up my ally they dont seem that cheaply made either and...
well can anyone actually post why I should not buy a yamaha denon and marantz are too expensive for a entry level receiver some people just go overboard with this stuff
Ok ive read all the posts on what I wanted to know but still am kinda confused cuz other sites say yamaha isnt that good and so on they say they have a certain bright sound
I am new to HT and wondered how to choose what to get?>!! Not many stores around me let you listen and when they do, i have no clue what to look for Ive narrowed it down to either a yamaha htr-5550 or maybe a onkyo...Its just a headache picking from all the companies and whether to buy online...
well the colors are color coded right? Thats why I made sure they were connected right and even checked the dvd player menu to see if I needed to change anything Im guessing it is the dvd player and when I get my new Home THeater setup I will get all new cables and try again thanks
well ill just say this....I bought a monster cable S video cable once with my older 27 inch sony and this dvd player and the screen would flash on dark scenes of the dvd...took off the cable..and no probs with the rcas then I used the tiny little S video cable that came with my vcrs...and it...
I will go check out the onkyo though to see if I like it...maybe someone has it hooked up around here also should I go coaxial cable or another cable for my HT? My dvd player has an optical out and coaxial and 5.1 inputs
A few months back I bought some monster cable component cables for my sd-2200 and hooked it up to my brand new jvc flat screen no picture...hmm.. and the s video cable worked fine So i hook up the component cables to the RCA jacks instead of the component input jacks and it works but doesnt...
Um i went to the yamaha because the onkyo is underpowered compared to the yamaha I want and it has way more features. Ive read reviews of the onkyo 500 and thats the only one i can afford
Why does this setup have 100watts per channel and the ONkyo sr-500 single reciever has no where near this power? Seems odd to me that this receiver is putting out so much power WOuld you guys recommend this HTIB? or buy a Yamaha RX-v530 and buy the towers, rears and subs seperate?
thanks does yamaha really void your warranty if you dont get the authorized line from a authorized source? Im just debating whether its worth it to get the rx-v530 or the htr-5550....same reciever i think
I kinda want to have a warranty even though I will get it online Most local stores are charging rip off prices I am looking at the Yamaha RX-V530 which I heard voids warranty if you buy online or the HTR-5550 which can be found online for less than 300 any other sites that sell and have a...
I listened to many, except the denon and onkyo no places near me let me listen to the denon or onkyo and the denons are too much money for little features No marantz near me also Yamaha has the most features/sound- everything I need for my HT
RX-V530 yes I will get this one or the htr-5550..only a 10 dollar difference I just want to decide on some speaker towers first and then get the receiver also...then later a subwoofer and so on. I will probably get some jbl towers or yamaha towers unless anyone else has any info about which...
hmm...yes I was looking at the RX-V530 and its only a 10-15 dollar difference between the HTR 5550 and the RX-V530. I read some posts and poeple say they are the same...yet this salesman was giving me the old...THE HTR line is horrible and a lower model series that isnt as good as the RX line....
I checked out the HTD ones but Id want to get a better sub and so on...I already have 2 main speakers that are older I think ill end up mixing and matching speakers in the end cuz I want to get some good quality towers first I just want the best sound quality and it all starts with the...
