Does vibration play a role in how a setup will sound?

If you want to try this tweak and save money I suggest going to Home Depot and purchasing white half round door knob stops. Mike Knapp posted this tweak a few years back and Ive been using them ever since.

    Yahama RX-V1 or Denon AVR-4802?

If the extra $700 does'nt put you out then get the Denon. I dont say this because I feel the the Denon is better but because it sound like you prefer the 4802. You need to be happy with you purchase and not always thinking what if. Matt

    Good value for Yahama RX-V1?

Glenn I would assume that Soundtrack is owned by the Tweeter Corp. If so see if they can locate you a gold one. They have a ton of stores across the U.S. I know mine is not a refurb. Matt

Need comments on 3802 vs 1200 vs SR7200

in this great hobby, where do you draw the line for upgradeitis?

Please for my sake don't ever draw the line. I like buying last years stuff at big savings. Last month I purchased a Yamaha RX-V1GL for $1299 list $3000 and a JVC XV-D723GL dvd audio/video player for $179.00 list $800. I may have some version of upgradeitis but at least its the cheaper one Matt

    yamaha rx-v1 or not?

I agree with Gerald. I boougt mine 3 weeks ago for 1299.00 and to this day I have yet to find any faults. You will want to purchase a extra set of speakers for the front effects althought they are not needed I feel they are a nice addition to 5.1/6.1
