Got this yesterday. The transfer. Initially I thought nothing much had been done with the picture as there was still some heavy grain throughout the film. However when comparing it to the old R1 version the new transfer is vastly superior. Lots more detail and clarity, and no visible dirt at...

Anybody know why this was released on R2 first, with no R1 release in sight? Could it be because the USA branch are slowing down on classic show releases a bit in favour of new show releases atm?

I've got A-Team and Magnum PI seasons 1-2 on R1. What problems have you had with them? You might find with a different DVD player they work fine. I have got season one of Columbo on R2 and it does have the proper universal logo at the end of the eps. The old one.

Fraid I'm gonna vote for the first one, the brown/orange one. Why? Because it's more striking, and different. Consistency can be very boring. And so long as the spines match, thats great. Ric it would be great if you could make both available, since once again I feel in the minority...

Not a DS9 fan myself, at least not enough to spend a small fortune on season boxsets of it. Of course Enterprise is set for a UK DVD release early next year sometime.:D

Another thing, I've not bought season 4 yet, but various sources tell me that the R1 picture quality is better for these releases over the european discs.(theres horrible softness filter and DVNR added to the UK discs) So it's R1 from now on:emoji_thumbsup:

I disagree, I've got the european (UK) ones, and those plastic lunchboxes are a nightmare. They look nice, but very irritating to open just to get one disc out. Plus the card packaging will wear out very quickly. I'd sooner use Rics covers and store the original packaging, that way it saves...

I buy the boxes from here: http://www.inetdvd.com/store/shopexd.asp?id=6109 As for printing the covers, I use two sheets of photo paper, and with some careful cutting and double sided tape put them together. The boxes have slip covers like all the others.

Also, for the insert, The one I like best is just the kid, and second, the kid and locutus.
