Eric, my thoughts exactly. It seems that Adire took a fairly popular sub that received a good bit of positive press and "improved" it (no one seems to know by how much) while doubling the MSRP. This may not have been the best marketing decision. :frowning:
I have not seen any posts on the new Adire Audio Rava II. Has anyone on the forum purchased one of these second generation subs? The original seemed to be universally lauded for its accuracy and "bang for the buck", how does the new one compare?
I've been looking for a copy of this song for a long time, with no luck. It's "Prisoner" by Karen Lawrence and the L.A. Jets. This song was rerecorded by Barbra Streisand and used as the love theme for the movie "The Eyes of Laura Mars". The original version (written by Lawrence, by the way) has...

Nick, another option would be a pair of Ascend Acoustics CMT-340s with the matching stands. I have two pairs of CBM-170s with a CMT-340c center and Hsu VTF-2 sub and I'm very pleased with them. The Maggies are very nice speakers also but as you've mentioned there are placement issues with them...
YES - "Close to the Edge" COLLECTIVE SOUL - "Collective Soul" STEELY DAN - "Aja" PEARL JAM - "Ten" BLUE OYSTER CULT - "Tyranny and Mutation" BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - "Born to Run"
My Denon DVD-2200 player locks up when I try to access the dts tracks from the menu on the ELO "Zoom" dvd. I installed the Denon firmware to fix the dts issues on one of the "Alien" dvds because this problem sounded very similar to the one I'm having with "Zoom". However, this did not solve the...
1) Yes - "Close to the Edge" 2) Pink Floyd - "The Wall" 3) Dire Straits - "Brothers in Arms" These three in Hi-Rez would make me a very happy camper! :D :emoji_thumbsup:
I agree with you Jeff Keene! "Open Your Eyes" is the worst Yes album ever. In fact, "Tormato" is Grammy-worthy compared to "OYE". "Onward" writen by Chris Squire is one of my favorite Yes tunes of all time! :D :emoji_thumbsup:
You're right Grant B. It seems like looks mean as much or more than talent does these days. Remember Christopher Cross? I wonder if he would even get a chance today? Of course, he was smart enough to not put his picture anywhere on his debut album!
John, I am far from being an expert but I do have the 2200. In your setup make sure the "player mode" is set to "Audio" and not "Video" From what I've read in the manual, the "Audio" setting allows the 2200 to play the DVD audio signals as such while the "Video" setting plays only the regular...
I want to make sure I am setting up my 2200 correctly for M/C SACD and DVD-A playback. Can anyone (like KeithH or John Garcia) give me some advice on a few options: 1) Digital out (normal or PCM)? 2) LPCM (44.1 kHz/48 kHz) (off or on)? 3) Filter (off or on)? I have the audio channel set...
Speaking of openings of songs that would be great in surround sound: how about the opening of "Close to the Edge" by Yes! I hope that Rhino survives long enough for us to see CttE released in DVD-A! :D :emoji_thumbsup:
It's good to see some fellow Yes fans posting. I just received my copy of the "Yesspeak" docu-dvd (only $15.18 w/free shipping @ www.deepdiscountdvd.com )
IMHO "Close to the Edge" is the ultimate Yes album, thats why we need it in Hi-Rez. Only three songs long, but oh, those three songs are masterpieces! :)
Yes is my favorite group (I'm waiting for my YesSpeak dvd to be delivered any day now), IMHO "Open Your Eyes" is their weakest cd. I think "Onward" from "Tormato" is a beautiful ballad written by Chris.
